IL Vecchio Ristorante — Restaurant in Wales

Upon walking in to this enchanting establishment, you have the distinct sense that this is not your first visit, and in fact you have visited this place before - perhaps in a dream. Once in the entrance room, one is greeted by a fantastic man, a man that would be at home in any scenario, a man that would make the trickiest of customers melt like butter in the sun. ‘Now this is a waiter’ I think to myself, as all sense of stress and melancholy quickly retreats from my mind and body. Upon blinking my eyes, I found myself sat at an unreasonably comfortable table - did I walk or float here? One thing is for sure, when in il vecchio, one is no longer in Bridgend, but transported to the dimension of higher beings. Laid before me was a delectable assortment of food and drink - just the right amount. The steak must come from the perfect being? The potatoes from the garden of god himself? Once consumed, one is filled with a tremendous, almost overwhelming sense of peace and comfort. Having been overtaken by this feeling myself, when I eventually came to it was like awakening from the finest dream. But alas, I found myself back on the streets of Bridgend, the entrance to il vecchio no longer visible to my human eyes. I smiled to myself and held the moment gently in my mind, like a precious gem, before heading off into the cold...

Came here for my birthday in December. Great experience from before we even left the house! I phoned to say we were running late and was told not to worry and I'll get there when I get there and to relax. Which was just a really lovely touch, because I was stressing a bit.

We had starters (including complimentary garlic bread) and mains and found the service to be excellent. The food was great. 2 of us out of the group of 5 adults are vegetarian and we found there to be enough options for us. My husband's cannelloni was the best - it was so tasty.

We didn't have desserts from the menu, as my mum had brought a birthday cake for me. Franco said he's having a piece and he did! The desserts on the menu did sound good, though.

I see that the first post by a Mr. Khan alleged racist statements from the owner. On reading further posts I see that the person making these allegations was the delivery person for Just Eat and was 2 hours late delivering a meal on behalf of that restaurant. Has he and his 2 other reviewing friends ever had a meal at the restaurant? It may be that Mr. Khan has been reprimanded by the Just Eat company and has now decided to make the ultimate slur against Mr. Scuto being racist. This I know for a fact to be the biggest load of rubbish I’ve ever heard as Mr. Scuto is married to a person of colour and has mixed race children.
