Upon arrival it looked promising, a very interesting menu, aswell as the tapas classics. However 2 of the 6 dishes we ordered were very disappointing, and not as described on the menu and nothing like the photos we’ve seen.
For example, the Pan fried gambas, with chilli, garlic, lemon & olive oil. Usually with pan fried prawns they arrive in the oil they were cooked in with chill, garlic etc. However ours were boiled prawns in a watery broth, more like a seafood soup. The prawns had not been in a frying pan.
Secondly, the grilled flatiron steak with balsamic, garlic and red wine jus. All the pictures of the steak had been served medium rare and quite a generous portion. We assumed it would be similar as we weren’t asked how we’d like it cooked. Ours came very well done. Also it was about half the amount of steak as the pictures displayed on Google. Spaced out on the plate with salad covering the steak. Also worst of all, the steak had a hair on it.
To conclude, in fairness, the other 4 dishes were really nice and fast to arrive at the table. We weren’t given a check back so we weren’t able to highlight the faults to give them the opportunity to put right. So that did let the experience down. A 2/5 for service and...
Read moreWent here tonight with family for the first time. Went in and was shown to the table with a waitress who wasn’t very inviting and didn’t crack a smile once. Then another waitress took our drinks order which then arrived one at a time strangely. I then asked the waitress what’s the best amount and ideas for tapas as we hadn’t been before and didn’t know portion sizes or what was best recommended, the waitress had replied she didn’t know as it was her first night, fair enough bless her but she just left the table, she could’ve asked a more experience member of staff or someone could have come to help her out. Then we had another waitress to actually order who was the most friendly and helpful. We then had a number of different waitresses come to the table to try and take orders that had already been taken so clearly poor communication. The food was really lovely and portion sizes were good, we were 4 people with 10 tapas dishes. Shame about the service and the fact we saw around 5 different members of staff. A lovely place that could do with some real staff structure and organisation to make it a real...
Read moreTable booked for 6pm on a Saturday evening. There were a bunch of women outside arguing with the bar man about a bill not being paid or something? The bar man was polite to us and clearly flustered by being shouted at by a group of women. Dramatic start to the evening!
Inside we were told to wait at the bar but were told by the barman he can't make our drinks yet as he had loads of orders lined up.
When we were sat, we ordered a jug of sangria and jug of water. The water never came and they took our food order before we received our sangria, 25 minutes after ordering.
The food was nice but nothing special and it wasn't hot, just warm. My friend didn't eat her hake as she said it didn't taste right, but she's not one to complain, so still paid for it.
It was really loud in there and we didn't love the sangria and they brought us the wrong bill. It was fine but I preferred it in their old venue. It was the same volume as a cocktail bar, which I guess it is also, but I would just prefer quieter vibes at...
