My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and occupied Room 2 for the entire stay. Booked the hotel due to the convenience and proximity to the facility that I was due to have my training. Because we had to have a long drive from Newcastle, we checked in around 8pm on the first night. Staff were friendly and very helpful - couldn't do enough for you. Location-wise, it was situtated near the centre (and I think the train station, too). There was a church literally in front, and some shops around that was only a few minutes walk. It's a good place to stay if you want a little feel of the area, but not get too overwhelmed with the busy-ness of the place. The room was a good size, the bed was huge, and extremely comfortable. The pillows were divine! I've had the best sleep I've had (this is an understatement). I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The bathroom was equipped with his and hers sinks and a huge waterfall shower - literally the best experience we've ever had depsite of the awful weather (stormy weather for our stay). I think from memory there were 8 rooms in total, 2 upstairs, and the rest were located downstairs. All accessible through a common staircase or a lift. It's a quaint hotel but fitted with modern finishings. They had a restaurant that can accommodate around 40 people (I think that was my chair count) and a bar with lounge. I noticed that a lot of locals frequent the restaurant at night, because it was really busy throughout our stay. (Because the food was just amazing!) Parking was not plentiful, with only 3 spots in the bay, and one near the garden area, but staff were always quite keen to help! Food didn't come in a buffet setting, but was served fresh from the menu selection - mostly british and spanish food inspired. We mostly had breakfasts in, which were included with our stay, but the food was amazing! An explosion of flavour - shout out to Kuya Dante who prepared our breakfasts! Room was fitted with airconditioning but I personally feel it wasn't that strong enough - I guess that's the only improvement I could suggest. Eventually I did manage to cool down because the cold stormy weather helped when I opened the windows for the whole room. Nothing major - our overall stay was superb!

This was an amazing stay! We had two rooms and both were a good size with a comfy bed and lovely soft bedding. It was spotlessly clean and had ample space to stow away and store luggage / clothing. A nice little table with cups, glasses, kettle and hot beverage selection. The bathroom was the best I’ve ever seen! The bath in my friend’s bathroom was lovely and deep whilst I had the biggest walk in rain shower I’ve ever seen! Lovely toiletries and soft towels provided and double sinks! The breakfast area Gin & Sangria had a great feel with a great a la carte selection. We really enjoyed our breakfast! Nicely stocked bar as well. The staff were all so nice and helpful. We couldn’t work out how to use the air con and called the staff at night to help and they came straight over. We also had dinner in the nearby Japanese restaurant called Gin and Sake owned by the owner of this hotel. The food there was absolutely delicious and the decor was so beautiful! We are absolutely coming back to this hotel and next time with our dog as I didn’t even realise they are dog friendly! There are some lovely places to visit nearby, some beautiful sandy beaches a short drive away and a little further (30-40mins) you can get to Swansea and the Gower Coast to your West or Barry Island to your East. I’m sure there are plenty of inland wonders too which we will explore next time. Definitely recommend this hotel if you’re wanting to explore this part of Wales!

We stayed in room 5. Lovely building, only small hotel (8 rooms in total) Reception staff very polite, Michelle who was serving us breakfast - extremely nice and helpful. Food lovely (only had breakfast there) Rooms nice, but not very big. Very chic place, but nothing spectacular considering the price (240£ a night on Friday night)

Booked in advance for an evening meal celebrating a belated birthday treat.||Over all the evening was nice. ||We were a little disappointed with how small and cramped the bar was for a pre dinner cocktail which didn't give a comfortable relaxing ambience. ||A little disappointed that the waitress had no idea whether a fish dish could be served without a chilli sauce or if the chilli sauce was hot and when returning from asking the chef I was told ' chef said every ones palate is different but yes you can have it without the sauce'... ||My husband doesn't drink wine. When asked what I would like to drink I asked for a glass of merlot and the same waitress returned stating merlot isn't served by the glass, only a bottle and she didn't know what to suggest as an alternative and had to ask her colleague. ||Similarly for the desert the waitress didn't know if ice cream was available as an alternative to the limited desserts on the menu and had to head off to ask the chef etc. ||This may sound trivia but for a supposedly first class restaurant and an overly price a la carte menu one would expect a first class table service with the waitress having knowledge of wines and foods available etc. There appeared to be limited staff ( two ladies whilst we were there) who attended the bar and waited upon the tables, nevertheless they were very attentive and very polite. ||We did enjoy the evening and our meal but a tad disappointed that it wasn't the 'black tie' service...
