My first visit to Tholos. We came for our date night, and I was thoroughly impressed. The decor is dark modern, has a nice mood lighting, and cool Greek myth murals on the walls. The waiting staff were really nice and efficient. The man who took our drink order was very knowledgeable and gave me a good recommendation for a Greek rose, which I loved. The food was probably the best I have eaten in South Wales. We had the shared mixed starter of hummus, tzatiki, bread, dolmades, and feta pies, which was lovely. Plenty of it and tasted like it was all made fresh. For mains, my husband had the Beef Stifado and I the lemon- oregano chicken. They were both stunning. I could have eaten that chicken all night. Again, it was very fresh and plenty of it. We were too full for dessert this time, but I want to go back and have some next time. I highly recommend Tholos. It was only a short walk from the train...

Never had Greek food before and Tholos did not disappoint! Absolutely outstanding food. 9 of us went so a variety was ordered and everyone said how gorgeous the food was. Service was spot on, our lovely waiter couldn't do enough for us. We didn't have to wait long for anything. Atmosphere was lovely and everything was very clean.

The only downfall was the toilet. 2 toilets signed 1 man 1 woman but shared sinks in a small space. When I went in a man was coming out of the ladies cubical so going in after him I was relived to see a disinfected spray on the side to use because there was clear splash marks on the seat. Personally I'm not comfortable sharing toilet facilities outside of my own home, but one of our friends mentioned that apparently it's actually they way it is in Greece in alot of places?

Other than that i would say highly recommend, we will...

Hugely disappointed and very overpriced for what you get. Visited this new restaurant in Bridgend, lots of staff around eagerly waiting to serve you and get you back out the door again. Inside is well decorated, but didnt really get the 'greek' experience we were expecting! Service standards quite poor, basic table waiting skills were hugely lacking, timings of food coming to table, no check in to see if food was all ok either. Still eating starters when main meal came out, and no plates taken away. Took our drinks order ask for Koh on menu to get a different one, and g and t already poured, turns out no gin in it! This substandard service would make you question whether the food is freshly cooked as restaurant was full and we had finished two courses for four people within 45 minutes! To spend £104 for four people I was expecting a much...

Thoroughly enjoyable meals! Food was well portioned and tasty and given it being a busy Saturday evening service, arrived in good time. The mains felt authentic, and the desserts went down a treat. As a party we couldn't fault any of the food we had, even those who hadn't eaten Greek cuisine before. Service was good, plenty of staff serving tables, and offering a friendly vibe. The atmosphere and decor was nice; a traditional Greek theme with a somewhat modern twist. The only critique being that there are a lot of tables, at least downstairs, and we were quite close to other parties, which made it feel slightly cramped, but it certainly took nothing away from the experience. Slightly steeper in terms of prices than maybe used to in Bridgend, but the meal and atmosphere warranted how much we paid. Would happily return.

Myself and my wife recently visited Tholos for our very first visit for lunch and we shall definitely be calling again most likely for an evening meal next time. It was quiet being mid week. We've heard that the evenings particularly Friday and Saturday can be busy. The food was lovely and the service from the very friendly waitress Saskia was too. We both had the 2 course lunchtime special at £13.95. Meatballs starter for us both then I had the beef stifado and my wife the kebabs. The food was plentiful. Having worked in Cyprus with the RAF a number of years ago it was really pleasurable to listen to the traditional Greek music throughout. There is a downstairs dining area and an upstairs one too. We would highly recommend a visit here to Tholos which has been open for about two years.

First visit to Tholos and overall I was impressed. The owners have done a great job on the design, I really liked the colours, furniture and lighting. The staff were also top notch, very friendly and attentive. It was good to see Greek beers and wines on the menu alongside a classic selection of traditional dishes. Veggies will be happy with plenty of small plates and four mains to choose from. We shared cheese parcels, haloumi and battered courgettes to start, which were all good. The mains not so impressive, the moussaka was a bit light on aubergine and the stuffed peppers a bit lacklustre. They really needed some veg in with the rice and a tomato sauce would have been good. The chocolate souffle for dessert was stunning. Looking forward to a return visit.
