I ordered a 14-piece Original Recipe chicken through the KFC app at 16:20, checked in at 17:35, and only received my food at 17:45. The whole experience was extremely disappointing.
First, the app is misleading. It warns against checking in before entering the shop (or risk no refund), yet when I asked inside, I was told food is only prepared after I arrive on the premises. That makes ordering ahead pointless. Why have an app if it doesn’t save time? It feels like a corporate gimmick rather than a genuine service.
Second, there was no order display system to let me know if my food was being prepared. I had to wait in a crowded shop for over several minutes, which defeats the purpose of “order & collect.”
Finally, the packaging was shockingly poor. My 14 pieces were handed to me in flimsy paper pouches instead of a proper bucket. For a paid order, this felt careless and disrespectful. I didn’t pay to be treated like I was receiving food aid — I expected proper packaging and service.
This experience reinforced why I avoid large chains like KFC: impersonal, inefficient, and dismissive of customers’ time. Unless significant improvements are made, I won’t be returning. And as a Level 7 Local Guide, I’ll be sharing this experience honestly for others to consider...
Read moreI want to make a complaint as a Deliveroo, Uber and Just Eat worker that on 18th December 2021 at approximately 13:00 the manager of the KFC restaurant in Cwmbran authoritatively canceled my Deliveroo order. I had received the food and when I was leaving the restaurant to deliver it, I saw that the manager approached her system and then I looked at my phone and she had canceled my order. I claimed her because she canceled my order, and I saw when she approached to the system screen to do it. She always looks weird at me from my English accent. She told me that she want to see how I solved the problem in my application. We Delivery Workers are tired of being abused by this manager, they always treat my colleagues and me badly. We work and we never disrespect the restaurant or its staff. When the manager is arbitrarily canceling or blocking an order, she is violating my rights to work and to support my home and my family. Read moreI entered the cwmbran store at 20:16 the restaurant was nice and tidy unlike my last visit and I am glad that it has been rectified. I received my order at 20:23 and there were some issues, the 1 piece original chicken I had was a drumstick and it was lukewarm at best and there were pink areas on the chicken which made me feel quite sick. Along with this the fries I received with my order were not good either, flavour wise they were perfect but temperature wise not the best some were stone cold and others were lukewarm. The Southern rice I couldn't even bring myself to eat it it looked foul, it was stuck together like a clump of clay and looked like it had been reheated in the microwave several times.
