In Cardiff for 5 days. Had planned to spend 5 days 10am - 2pm in here doing some work on laptop, coffee, pastry, lunch etc before I left for the office.
However, first morning advised not allowed to get laptop out due to ambience requirements. And that I should be there to chill..
Empty cafe, no other customers, but still they enforced their ambience requirements.
I had no choice but to go elsewhere to work, have morning coffee and pastry and then lunch all week.
UPDATE I acknowledge the response to my review above. The response is contradictory - is it no laptops, or laptops are ok but only for a brief period?
No laptops because you donāt want your give free power supply..? What about battery powered laptops? Also WiFi, why do you have wifi if customers canāt use it then?
You imply using a laptop would be disruptive..? I think what you are trying to say is no work calls. Using a laptop is a silent process which does not detract from the quiet ambience you seek.
Either way, you have been reviewed.
And perhaps you might wonder why the one time Iāve been in, and the 3 times since Iāve walked past, you have had NO customers.

Coffee was average, pastries were fine but being charged £16 for 2 takeout coffees (£4.30 a coffee!!) and a small snack each leaves a bad taste in the mouth. I didn't notice the price until after they had started making the coffee otherwise I would have left. The prices should be fairer and more in line with competitors, charging 80p for non-dairy milk on top of an already very expensive coffee feels like they are taking advantage of customers. I also noticed cling-filmed pastries in the counter from the day before - just not acceptable to sell given the high prices charged. Really...

There's also a range of other baked goodies many of them flown in from Portugal; cakes, donuts, sandwiches, pasties. The ice-cream is super tasty. The owner Joel is very friendly, to make some of the best coffee I've found down here in the bay. There's some lovely little tables inside and outside tables in the summer and spring. Also WiFi is available. Can't...
