We booked dinner for Sunday here. When we arrived they informed that lobster wasn’t available. My friend really wanted lobster so we walked a few other places trying to find and we couldn’t. The frustration of the lobster started the dinner. But the food was so amazing that it was ignored by the end of the dinner. The owner (I believe he was) explained to us that as the restaurant closes on Monday and Tuesday and he wants to serve all fresh he always guarantee the day service. But he got surprised on how many lobsters were sold during Saturday. He has a friend that does the fishing and he can have always fresh but didn’t have for Sunday. The menu had a good variety of sea food. And 5 different fishes for main course. For starters we went with seafood cocktail that was in fact a mixed platter of shellfish. Lagostins and chicken. They sold the last mussels portion the prior table ordering. Main course 2 plaice fish and one megrim. They were served with a side we all went with the potatoes in garlic sauce. OMG what a sauce, a butter cream that was just divine. The plaice were served full fish. So a bit tasteless as the fish it is not full of flavour. And there were too many bones. The megrim on the other hand was served in fillets that were grilled and then pan fried. Amazing taste. A beautiful meal. Beautiful food, and beautiful...

What a fantastic restaurant. The atmosphere was brilliant, The service was second to none. The food was out of this world. I started with the pate (fresh bread, onion relish, salad with jewels of chopped cucumber, yellow, red, and green peppers and red onion) with crisp butterhead leaf. The Pate was the best I've tasted. If I had one critique, the amount on the plate was large enough to be a sharing plate. For the main dish, I had seafood pasta. Please try this. What a culinary delight! Muscles, prawns, white fish in a perfect wine and cream sauce with giant tiger prawns as the crowning glory. As a side (although not needed), fresh bread, olives, and balsamic vinegar. The bottle of Pinot Grigiot was light and refreshing. The price was reasonable. Welcoming and well frequented and yet somehow there's still plenty of room between each table and you dont feel crowded. Well worth a visit if...

We did not have a comfortable experience at On George's. We visited two weeks ago during our holiday in Tenby and to celebrate the birthday of one member of our party.

It was admittedly a very busy evening but the food took a lot longer to arrive at our table than to others around us who arrived later. One of our party complained about overcooked food and was told that it was perfect and implied that he shouldn't complain and just eat it. This was very uncomfortable and affected the mood of the evening. We also weren't told about an increased charge on eating a starter as main. This is to be expected but we had no idea as it was not on the menu and they didn't inform us. When the food eventually arrived it was fine but the overall experience was ruined by unnecessary treatment.

Not recommended on...

We pre-booked but it wasn’t busy when we arrived. Nicely decorated, candles on all tables and nice hanging lights. Food was good, took a little while to come out but we were happy to wait as it was all freshly prepared and hot when delivered to our table. One of our party had a soya allergy and staff took this really seriously, checking with us several times to make sure we didn’t receive anything with soya in. Beef burger was great, really big portions and the sweet potato coconut curry was really nice. We also tried the tempura vegetables and garlic mushrooms starters. Deserts looked lovely but too full so will have to try these next time instead of a starter!

Simple food well cooked with generous portions. The mussels were plump with a beautiful creamy wine sauce. The pâté my partner did could have had more flavour. My lamb rump main was lean and well cooked with a pile of various vegetables, it felt almost healthy until I added the creamy garlicky potatoes from the side dish. My partner also enjoyed her Skate a lot (that one needs a side dish). One star off since service was a little slow to get going (peak time, staff were working hard) and another (pushy) couple who arrived after us were served first, and received one of our dishes by mistake. I'd book on weekends. Weekdays you can probably walk in.
