Went in and paid for fish fingers and chips. The chips were cold and still hard (frozen) and the fish fingers was raw. We sent the food back and they told us that we would not get a refund but head office will call us. This was last August (2024). Head office did not call us yet they claimed that they did once. (we called countless times) when we went back in to speak to management they said that there was nothing wrong with the food. It was literally frozen!! Absolute shambles of a place. The rude manager put his hand in my mother's face and told her to leave. He then called the police who said that this is a civil matter and they will not get involved (suprise, suprise). They called the police because we complained about fish finger and chips being frozen. The staff and management was nothing short of rude and would not take responsibility for their mistake. If you decide to go in here I hope it's a sunny day so you can go outside and thaw your still frozen meal. One star is too many for this absolutely terrible establishment. If I could swear I would. My mother is 75 and the manager shoved his hand in her face. He should be...
Read moreThe owner of Rummers has a pattern of fabricating lies, escalating conflicts unnecessarily, and refusing to take any responsibility. His responses to one-star reviews consistently reveal a hostile and vindictive attitude, attacking reviewers with false accusations rather than addressing legitimate concerns.
I left a simple one-star review with no details, which he falsely claimed was from someone who never attended. When I disputed this, he updated his response to accuse me of illegal parking—another lie. He escalated further, claiming I was thrown out for "harassing women," and later invented a bizarre story about my “associates” resigning from Rummers? These baseless accusations demonstrate his complete lack of professionalism.
This behaviour is not isolated. A quick glance at his responses to other negative reviews shows a disturbing trend of personal attacks, deflection, and dishonesty. Instead of addressing feedback constructively, he doubles down with petty insults and wild accusations. His lack of accountability and integrity is unacceptable and unfit for someone in a...
Read moreI’ve got to be honest, it takes a lot for me to write a review—my experience at Rummers Wine Bar was really disappointing. I went in with high expectations, but it fell flat on so many levels. The service was unbearably slow, even though the bar wasn’t particularly busy. When our drinks finally arrived, they were underwhelming—my cocktail tasted watered down and thrown together without any care.
The atmosphere didn’t do it any favors either. The music was blaring, making it impossible to enjoy a conversation, and the dim lighting felt more dreary than intimate. To make matters worse, the place didn’t feel clean—sticky tables and unpleasant bathrooms were a real letdown.
On a side note, I can’t help but wonder if Rummers does anything to give back to the community. Which feels like a missed opportunity. For the prices they charge, I expected a lot more, both in terms of the experience and their community engagement. I don’t think I’ll be heading back anytime soon.
Edit: I am not an associate of Hugo and for the manager to suggest that is completely baseless and...
