I’m a massive foodie and I’ve eaten some great food over the last year. The meal I had yesterday at Chapel Arts kitchen was not only the best meal I’ve had this year, but in the top 5 I’ve ever had. I had the Daal with chicory, a garlic bread and gooseberry chutney. But it was so much more than that. The daal was incredible, with a deep, rich flavour rounding off with hints of star anise. Topped with the unusual but inspired choice of gooseberry chutney, it had all the sweet, tart and acidic flavour to perfectly round off some brilliant spice cookery. I could eat it by the bucketful! And the bread. What might you expect besides a hint of garlic and bit of char? I want to know what they did to this bread to transform it into the perfect accompaniment to this daal and a spectacular side by itself. It had the most gentle garlicky char and an amazing, warm, deep flavour I don’t know how to describe, but which was homely and comforting and when dipped in the daal and chutney was absolute perfection. My partner had a beautiful salad of green beans, quinoa and grilled peaches. Light, delicate and very summery! From the view into the kitchen, it looked like everything was run very efficiently. A great selection of beautiful looking produce, and a selection of deserts that will deserve another visit by themselves. The serving team were also brilliant. Water for the table without even asking, and were very friendly and attentive. I’ve had meals recommended by the Michelin man that didn’t hold a flame to how absolutely wonderful this food was. It was food that made me very happy and left me smiling for the rest of the day. Thank you for feeding me. I will absolutely be back! *please make a recipe book!*

Wow, what a lovely place. The menu was really interesting, the food was beautifully presented and very tasty, and the service was wonderful. I had "gold milk" to drink and broccoli, anchovy, shallot on sourdough toast. Really good (even if the broccoli was actually calabrese :) And then a pistachio and berry pie for afters. Not cheap, but not exorbitant either.

An amazing place for lunch or a coffee and cake (we had both!). All the food was incredibly presented, tasted fabulous and ingredients all locally sourced. Service was very laidback, which suited us just fine, but bear this in mind if you're after a quick bite, but to be honest the atmosphere was so familar and comforting, it was like home from home. Dog-friendly, and welcoming, bowl of water and weren't phased by him being on the chair (chihuahua size privilege). Also children friendly with a play area. Lift access for those who need it is possible. Price point was medium to high, but it was worth every bit in terms of quality and taste, plus the beautiful setting of the Chapel. Even managed to have a supernatural encounter when a lemon was thrown off of it's bowl on the counter by the thin air, turns out the site is haunted and somebody wanted to make their presence felt! Wonderful, and would go back time...

Fabulous place for lunch. The food is so fresh that the menu is not even finalised and ready for review until the lunch hour actually starts. I took some friends here, and one noted that he had 'the best salmon sandwich I've ever had in my life' (and he's around 50 years old). The food is extraordinarily tasty, and I was easily able to accommodate being gluten-free. The setting is very peaceful and quiet, and if the weather is fine, there's a lovely littel courtyard where you can sit. You can even purchase a few items to take home. An excellent environment, excellent food, and friendly servers, all at a very reasonable price. Highly...
