I do like the Lansdowne a lot - my group of friends use it regularly as a meeting point, particularly before football matches. The beer range is excellent and the food is good too. The staff are very nice and friendly too. Dog friendly too. The decor is nice as well and show sports.

Only minor complaints hence 4 stars - tiny toilets, outside area is also small and not very good. It does get very busy at times - as it's popular. Can be hard to get served as a result as the bar itself is quite small and people tend to sit at it (pet hate). Removing the stools would help with this. Sometimes you get a fair number of children, which depending on the quality of parenting can sometimes be a bit annoying but generally it's fine.

Overall a fantastic little pub and great place for...

Come here most weekends for swift pint. Great atmosphere and suitable for those fancying a few beers and a laugh, and families with children as well. It manages to keep a good balance between the two extremes for a nice warm and lively atmosphere.

Always an interesting selection of keg and cask beers that changeover from time to time - always something new to try. Eaten here a few times and food has always been excellent, a notch above standard pub grub I feel but still being solid pub grub without being pretentious or unsatisfying.

It's a really great pub in short. For people who like their beer, people who come for a chat and a laugh and people who come with children or families. Highly...

Haven't been here for 20 years or so (25 miles away & a little off the beaten track - train to Cardiff & train to Ninian Park + 10 min walk - but worth it!) Focus on real ale (from the number of pump clips, a lot of real ale has passed through the pumps). Turned up for the annual beer festival early Friday afternoon (16/6/17) but festival doesn't start until 17.00, however, 5 ales on the bar all excellent. Didn't eat but food looked & smelt wonderful? (Will try on next visit). 15/8/17. 3 pm. Well here again as promised, very quiet, one man and his dog . . . . Ok, no dog, but amazing, complete change of ales since last visit - all good. Only downside -...

A long way out of town but fairly close to the Cardiff City stadium. And it was worth it. Lovely friendly pub. Loads of real ales. I found some Bombardier again!! It was empty when I walked in but packed an hour later with not enough staff!! Why on earth don't they pay extra staff, organise themselves and get a bumper Boxing day pay out !! After all January won't be busy. It really isn't rocket science. We gave up queuing in the end and went to the Stadium. They really are missing a trick with 3k away fans....considering it is such a lovely unique place...

This was the most epic Sunday roast I can remember. I normally cook a roast at home and think the average carvery in many places is a bit mediocre, but the Lansdowne was utterly fantastic. Not just the meat, but the towering Yorkshire pudding, the beautiful vegetables, the tasty gravy and the splendid roast potatoes. We all agreed we'd look forward to our next visit. The service was friendly and the range of drinks was great too. I highly recommend a visit...
