The pub was busy as it was the Tunisia England World Cup games yet we still find seats together on the bar staff friendly and quick at their job. I like the idea of table service the waitress would take our order and either bring a card machine or appropriate change back to our table making the process very easy. My only two gripes were that firstly the lime and soda had very little lime cordial in it at all and even after asking for more it has barely changed colour and only just tasted of lime. We were told that they must put just the regulatory amount in at first pouring even though I had previously asked for more lime, my next drink was still made with the original minimalist amount requiring me to ask for extra again. Secondly, there were no clear visible signs of any toilets disabled or otherwise downstairs on the lower level the only notice and Direction given to toilets where to take the stairs to the upstairs bar and walk all the way across to the far corner, this was a very difficult and painful task for myself who suffers with chronic arthritis in both of my knees it did result in the rest of my evening being distracted due to my high level of pain as a direct result of having to...

Visiting from out of town, came across this place & decided to have dinner in here with my friend. Great vibe, chilled, relaxed. The food in all honesty, was not great. And questionable, considering how fast it was served to us. A chicken burger which was so dry with a solid bun, mash potato with a beef pie which was also dry, & not that hot. I decided to ask if it was cooked fresh, to which I found out that the food here is in fact pre-cooked & kept heated for a quick turnover. Basically, who knows how long our food had been sat under a heat lamp, or microwaved? I get it, if you’re busy & food is being ordered at a high volume, it wouldn’t be sat too long before it’s served. But the place was empty, it just seems like a lazy tactic on a slow day to be honest, & simple foods like what they serve are not hard to cook from scratch. The chicken burger was refunded. Not a great experience to be honest.

UPDATE: As we were walking out the restaurant, we notice a woman also complaining about her meal & sending it back. I’m starting to assume this is a regular...

Came here for a full English breakfast but I can't honestly say that's what I received. The menu stated (2 sausages, 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 hash browns, mushrooms, BEANS, a tomato and toast with butter) firstly I must add that in my opinion this does not class a a "full English" as it is short a black pudding or 2, secondly I did not receive the butter and on asking for it the server chuckled and walked away therefore leaving me to suffer through dry toast ripping down my throat, if this wasn't enough upon further inspection of my plate a saw my beans tho I use the plural loosely. When the menu was stating 2 of everything I expected more than this for my beans I seem to have been mistaken once again, I questioned this with the server to which he said and I quote "beans? No" what does that even mean? I know beans? no. I can clearly see that on my plate that's my problem. Again he walks of with no resolution I was left dissatisfied and hungry after this I went to the local spoons for a meal I knew would at least class a a...

I popped in here for some food, there didn’t seem to be a large number of pubs which allowed dogs in the centre of Cardiff (I might be wrong). The staff were incredibly helpful and brought out not just a big bowl of water but also a bowl brimming with dog treats. They were gone in about 10 seconds! Food for humans was really good too, great burger, just the right amount of sauce and chips were lovely. Very quick and friendly service too. A real port in a storm on a wet and cold June evening. I’ll be back when I’m in Cardiff. Highly recommended.

I have been here previously and had the cauliflower wings (pic 2), which were really good as it was actual decent pieces of cauliflower. But my recent visit, I had the 3 small plates and had the cauliflower wings again and was served this disappointing plate (pic 1). I was upset as I usually love the cauliflower wings but these looked like entrails from a batch 😭. I had to take a pic as I could not believe the difference. Sorry the second pic is extremely bad as it was a video of me praising them.

I was served by Saorla who was clearly a very lovely person. She humoured me, and guessed my favourite drink in 3 guesses. That was pretty impressive, although she wasn’t so impressed by my attempt at a Northern Irish accent. Her authentic Northern Irish accent was much nicer. I was glad they had Ginger Beer. Made me very happy. I was also happy that there were plenty of wall plugs around so I could charge my array of devices. Lovely experience, made nicer by a friendly interaction.
