The Service and Ambience is the real draw for this venue. I've always liked the large open tables and quick ordering and payment on the App. The food is usually very tasty fusion food at reasonable prices. However its clear that wagamama is suffering from food price hikes as the plated offering is rather sparce nowadays. I had the spicy vegan short rib in an udon broth which was disappointing. The broth was tasty but there were too many udon noodles and not enough veggies. The protein substitute was not to my liking. My friend ordered the yaki udon noodle dish with prawns and chicken. We noticed straightaway that there was only 1 prawn in the dish and mentioned it to a server. In fairness to them, they apologised, offered to cook it again or just provide more prawns, and also offered a free dessert. Three different servers came to check all was well and were very friendly and helpful. The front of house manager was lovely as well. I probably won't go back to wagamamas because I don't like the vegetarian options but for most people, it probably represents good value for money in a nice environment and the food is not too challenging. Recommended.

Went there for early dinner and immediately got a table, which at first was located in the middle of the restaurant, until we asked to be seated a little more seperated. The staff is incredibly friendly and talktative, they introduce you to their menu and answer all questions you might have. Though we specifically ordered starters, my friend received her main dish first and later on had her miso soup forgotten. After a quick notice, everything went fine, the food was a little pricey, though it did come hot and appealing to the eye. It sure is something different compared to "usual" Asian food, but make sure to give it a try. When we were asked whether we would like a bill, replying with a yes, the waitress came up with the card reader right away. I do not know if cash payment is possible, as we were not even asked and I had to quickly grab my card, which I usually only use for emergencies. All in all, tasty food that might go a little cheaper, clean environment and friendly staff.

In general, I love Wagamama, the sauces are very tasty, always order the same Hot honey chicken with rice. But the last few times they came to me overcooked, so I decided to take a break from it. Today I finally came back to try again. What’s good is they have very friendly staff, and the manager allowed me to order a exclusive for delivery chicken position to takeaway. It’s the only good thing. This chicken was a piece of stone. On top, there’s a terribly thick layer of sugar, which, as I’m attaching in the video, so thick and horribly hard, impossible to pierce it with a fork, even with force. If you somehow manage to break open this thick sugary crust, 90% of it is that sugar shell, and only 10% is actually chicken. Inside, the chicken is also overcooked and hard. It’s can be barely pulled apart into fibers. I ate a few pieces. Nearly scratched my throat. I was left hungry after all my way to the place. I hope the quality will be better.

Went for dinner with a few friends, lovely location. Ordered our food, waitress brought it out individually with 5 minute waits between each plate, not very ideal for a group dinner. One of my friends had a katsu curry, as she began eating it, we noticed something moving in the salad on the plate, no clue as to what bug it was but it definitely wasn’t supposed to be there. The food was clearly not prepared well or hygienically. We told one of the waitresses about the issue, she took the plate back but didn’t even offer an apology or inform us of what was going on. Other staff members were walking by giving the table dirty looks after this incident. After 10 minutes of waiting, we kindly told the waitress to not worry about a replacement or anything as my friend was now put off by both the service and food. She said ‘that’s fine nothing will be made’ and clearly had underlining attitude. Whole restaurant completely unorganised too, table next to us waited for a side of chilli squid for about 30 minutes altogether before and after their main courses were already brought out. Not really happy with the service nor the quality of the food but even an apology would have eased the entire situation, none of us were rude or argumentative to the staff so there was clearly underlining issues within...

WARNING TO ALL VEGATERIAN'S AND VEGAN'S!!!

I've been coming to this restaurant for about 4 years now since a friend brought me here. I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal from here! I often order home delivery also with deliveroo.

Tonight has been shocking! As always every meal is vegaterian as this is a strict vegaterian household. To my horror in the kids noodles was a piece of chicken! An actual piece of chicken.... It was lucky I spotted it as it had tofu and also egg in it so could have been missed. I'm completely disgusted by this and taking this matter very seriously! They are even offering vegan meals now which is a joke if they can't even get vegaterian food right. I'm in shock to be honest a chain of this size let their standards slip this much!! Even though to my knowledge no other meal had meat in it, it has left me feeling rather sick as every meal (3 bought) were picked at when eating to make sure nothing was in it. I seriously feel sick to my core! I personally haven't eaten meat for the majority of my life and I'm 33 years old now. I've informed deliveroo about this so see what they have to say about all this. Equally I plan on making the restaurant know about this to!...

I recently visited Wagamama Cardiff with the family, and overall it was a really positive experience.

Ambience The restaurant has a modern, clean and vibrant feel — the lighting is warm without being too dim, and the décor is stylish but unpretentious. The open kitchen adds a nice buzz, and the sound level is comfortable: lively enough that you can feel a buzz, but still easy to converse without shouting. They’ve clearly put thought into the layout: booths give a sense of privacy, and large tables work well for families or groups.

Staff The service was friendly, helpful, and efficient. From being greeted on arrival, to the staff checking in during the meal, to handling the bill — everything felt smooth. The staff were attentive with the kids (offered colouring sheets and crayons without being prompted), patient about questions on the menu, and quick to bring extras like water or cutlery when needed. Minor note: there was a slight wait for one dish, but they apologised and kept us updated, which went a long way. Would definitely recommend Wagamama Cardiff if you’re looking for somewhere casual, tasty, and welcoming for both adults and children....
