I'd been to the Emperors restaurant several times before and always had a good experience. It had been a few years since my last visit so was looking forward to this one. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. We arrived at our booking time an were sat at a table. All the tables were 'distanced' so that was all good. However it then took 30 minutes for someone to actually take our order. A lot of waiting staff running around, in a restaurant which was not that busy, but not a lot of action. Crackers were brought to the table but were served on a paper plate....! A 'high' end restaurant serving food on the cheapest nastiest paper plates you'd find in a supermarket. There was no one person on the waiting staff managing our table it seemed to be that any one of them could bring things to the table. As a result cutlery was missing, food was brought at different times , we had to ask for missing items. Basis 101 in managing a restaurant and customer service. Most of the food was tasty. Disappointed, was going to give three stars but as I write this I think it has to be two. Room for much improvement and I'd think twice...
Read moreReally disappointing experience here tonight. We usually come here for family special occasions as it is pricier than other places. The service was dreadful, we asked for the food to come together (there were 4 of us, including two children) and half of the food came at different times, the other half never turned up. The children's food was so late coming out that my son had fallen asleep and was napping under the table. One of the young male servers came over and asked me to move the child our suit him up in the chair (asleep? How?!), and then started shaking his head at me when I said that he wasn't doing any harm under the table. The wait staff tried to say the food hadn't come as the kitchen was so busy - the first 45 minutes we were in there, there were only two other tables taken in there, one of four and one of two, so I was not impressed. Overall, very disappointing, we will try somewhere...

Our experience at The Emperors was incredibly disappointing. Despite booking well in advance for a group of 12 to celebrate my brother’s 40th birthday, we were crammed around a table meant for 8 people. When we requested an extra table for more space, we were told that we could only use it for an hour—completely unrealistic for a group of our size, especially given the premium prices on the menu.
This was meant to be a special occasion, but instead, it felt rushed and uncomfortable. Thankfully, another local restaurant, Been, was able to step in and save the day. They were incredibly accommodating and provided us with a fantastic dining experience just up the road.
I wouldn’t recommend The Emperors if you’re looking for a comfortable and welcoming environment for a special occasion. We were left feeling undervalued and disappointed. Save yourself the trouble and go to...
