Sizzlers Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Warwick

I dont normally leave reviews especially negative ones unless it's really bad and I want to save others wasting money and an evening. We were out for a birthday meal and had booked here but on arrival we all were thinking about going elsewhere, the place was pretty rough and ready. But we just decided to give it a go anyway, they brought out menus which were really basic with little options compared to most Indian restaurants nothing particularly appealing but thought maybe that will mean a nice home cooked style curry's. After waiting a fair while to order some drinks they brought out a plate of salad to share between 5 of us and a small dip selection, with no poppadoms we had to ask if we could get some with it and by the time they had come we had eaten the sides. Then placed our orders which took ages to come considering it was pretty quiet in there. Service was all over the place we had to stack all the starter plates up as they didn't clear before bringing the mains. All 5 meals were awful we had mixed tandoori really dry no mint yohurt, biryani mostly rice and dry, paneer curry way too hot, lamb chops which were charcoal. I had lamb curry they said off the bone, it was a few tiny pieces of dry lamb and a few bones in mostly lamb fat and oil with a weird taste bland yet hot. The keema naan was horrible like flat and burnt not like a nice fluffy naan I'm used to with a weird taste. Will never ever dine-in or order from this place, it was all wrong today. Went in with wife and mother-in-law, as my wife wanted to have her favorite paneer from here. The restaurant was only about 30% occupied and there was plent of space, I agree the food was good, we ordered Onion Pakora and Panneer Sizzler, however while asking for the bill, he just wrote the items in a piece of paper and said 12pounds and only cash. When I asked about it initially, he said his POS machine was not working and that he is getting the payment only after 2 weeks, then I gave him 2x10pound notes and again he was rude to me saying that I don't have change and asked me to pay just 2 pounds in card and 10pound in cash, I was freaked out.

But out of all this what made it worse was, after finishing the payment i requested him to inform about the cash payment once we come in for Dine-in, as I usually don't have cash, for that he became rude again and said you come in as 3 people and buy for only 12 pounds and then expect me to accept card payment? and didn't even show his face and went away as I was talking, such a rude behaviour and later on went on to accept card payment for other customer (probably with a heavy bill), which meant he was basically lying about the POS machine failure.

Doesn't matter how good your food is, if you are treating customers based on the bill, then that shows your service is simply a trash.

I came with my wife early evening and had a fantastic meal. The Manager of the Restaurant recommended me and my wife 2 different dishes to try. He was enthusiastic and asked us to try his favourite food Lamb Handi on the bone.I had Lamb Handi and my wife dish was Chicken Tikka Biryani was excellent and authentic flavours. My Lamb Handi was fresh with chillies and the sauce had different flavours. I enjoyed it so much manager recommended me to have a Garlic Nan to share with my wife and a boil rice that I choose to have. THE biryani was to die for no other restaurant in leamington and warwick can make the Biryani which is served here. The popadums was fresh when we ordered and had the dips .Chilli sauce was excellent and nice and spicey never had it before. It was busy on Thursday night and the manager look aftered all the customers as he was on his own front of the house. The customer service was excellent and the manager was dressed smart with a tie on.. We will definitely come back with our friends to have another fantastic meal.
