A late Sunday lunch about 5pm bar staff friendly and polite nice cold pint. Waiting staff Tom not suited to this sort of work with him manners we were a party of 4 We were bit rushed to order starts but had to wait 25 minutes for them to come chorizo and honey very bland looking no garnish although bread was nice and hot Mains arrived with the waiter hold the plates with T-towels giving the impression the plates are very hot they were not and the beef Lamb and gravy was bearly warm but taste. He asked us if everything was alright We informed him the food was cold and he just said i will inform the chef and walked away. Leaving us mid conversation. The veg medley was over cooked and watery and soft We were all very hungry and could not be bothered to wait again.we didn't bother with deserts. Tom was over formaliar when speaking to us calling my friend "Darling" and my wife" Love"something I would expect from a barman in Birmingham not expected from a establishment in Warwick on a plus side i wasn't charged for a pint of Guinness although we did pay a £14 service charge. Unfortunately we did not noticed this till later else we would have asked for it to be removed. My wife has already emailed the Roebuck complain...

I visited the Roebuck to meet some friends and colleagues.

It's small frontage belies its large, pleasant and welcoming interior.

The (coronavirus) one way system was observed by everyone as was the table service only operation.

Really nice ambience with several little areas that used to be little rooms hundreds of years ago not long after Warwick Castle was built. I relished the thought that soldiers and servants from the castle probably ate and drank here as did Cromwell's roundheads.

Clean throughout. The staff were really lovely, helpful and attentive. The waiting was minimal and so made for a very pleasant evening.

Good choice of beers (warm and cold) and other beverages including tea and coffee. We didn't eat so cannot comment on that. You can get cheaper prices elsewhere but maybe not the ambience or history of The Roebuck.

Well...

Walked in on Saturday afternoon for lunch. The interior is rustic, modern and very inviting. The staff were very attentive and approached us immediately. We were given a table through the bar into the main restaurant. There was a great choice of ales and lagers on tap. Our drinks of choice were really good (real ale for me and lager for hubby). Aside from the menu, there are specials on the board too. We opted for a sharing platter consisting of chicken wings, prawn cocktail, Breads and olives. It was delicious and really well presented. Staff were fantastic, very polite and completely on the ball. Food was ordered and delivered quickly, and additional drinks were also ordered throughout our meal - waiting staff were on point! We'd definitely come back, and this would now be my immediate first choice of bar/restaurant in...

The Roebuck Inn, along Warwick town centre's Smith Street, complements Warwick's quintessential "English" persona. Over time the space inside the pub has been opened and extended to provide good restaurant capacity while preserving the "local" feel of the lounge/bar area. A musician was setting up on Saturday night for some live music. The Inn offered refreshingly imaginative options by way of specials when I was there. As with any quintessentially English town, parking is what it is and Warwick is probably not reputed for ample parking, but that's all part of the joy of England.

Poor fayre, I'm afraid. Sixty-minute wait when the pub was not that busy and the pricey food underwhelmed, particularly the awful fries. Manager was attentive but shocked when she asked how the food was and I replied: 'it's alright: I'd give you a 3/5. On reflection, I think it was lower than that. There are far better eateries nearby, for example, The New Bowling Green Inn. Avoid.

I think this is Warwick's oldest pub/restaurant and it is stunning - everything -from the waiting staff to the drinks and the high quality of the food they serve is perfect and the glasses for the wine are pure invitation to be used The atmosphere for regulars and newcomers alike is a warm welcoming -we book first to be sure of a table And we've never been disappointed
