What a stunning piece of architecture this Church is, inside and out. As you walk down the street this beautiful building stands out as the centre piece of Warwick Town.
The church is free to enter but donations welcome.
There is access to the church roof top which has stunning views right across the town. This is accessible for a £5.00 fee payable inside the church. There are roughly 160 steps to the top and does get very narrow towards the top. It took myself a couple of minutes to reach the top and I'm of good fitness a couple.
There is a alot of information to read around the church which dates back to 1123. The volunteers are very knowledgeable about the history of the church and are happy to chat to you about this.
The Crypt still remains from the original Norman building which houses a rare example of a medieval ducking stool.
Onsite is a small shop to get your usual trinkets and the obligatory fridge magnet.

Between c. 1370 and 1394, the chancel, transept, nave and aisles were rebuilt, then forming a basilica with wooden roofs. Thomas Beauchamp's descendants built the Chapel of Our Lady, commonly known as the Beauchamp Chapel. It contains the effigial monuments of Richard de Beauchamp, 13th Earl of Warwick, Ambrose Dudley, 3rd Earl of Warwick, and Robert Dudley, 1st Earl of Leicester (the favourite of queen Elizabeth 1st). The church, along with much of Warwick, was devastated by the Great Fire of Warwick in 1693. The nave and tower of the building were completely destroyed. In 1704, the rebuilt church was completed in a Gothic design by William...
