Have been using this establishment for years, fantastic food. Regularly order probable 2/3 times a month and dine in.
However recently I tried to make an order (total £82) and rather than pay by card over the phone as usual which takes a matter of seconds I was informed I had to wait for a text link to make payment.
Waiting 15 minutes, no text. Called restaurant I was told they were busy and I’d have to wait, I asked if I could pay via card to which I was informed that it’s not possible to make a card payment and I’d have to pay cash or cancel my order!
I waited another ten minutes and Eventually a text came through, however it was just a text, not a link, you could not click it. Rang the restaurant to a rather annoyed restaurant staff member who told me “it does work” and that I was wrong, in the end I had to ask my wife to clarify to the restaurant worker that I wasn’t making it up. the link DID NOT work. Whose fault is this? Mine? I don’t think so….
I informed the guy I’d cancel the order and forget about it to which I was told “we will call you back and you can make a card payment” I received a call and made a card payment like all restaurants do including this one historically going back years.
Unfortunately The guy who took the card payment was very short and snappy as though I’d done something wrong.
The tech didn’t work. Not my problem. I’ve spent thousands at this restaurant over the years, 100% will definitely not be using this place ever again. Real shame because the food is great. Total shame about the way they speak to customers. Why make purchases so...
Read moreThe restaurant doesn't look the best from the outside but once you enter the decor was much better than expected. The staff were welcoming as we went in and sat at our table. Once we ordered our food our started took a bit long than expected to arrive seeing as there were only 2 other tables in at the time. Once our starters arrived it was laided out nicely. I had ordered vegetables samosas and it was anything special, Ive had better from my local Indian takeaway. Then our mains arrived, I had a chicken curry with pilau rice. The chicken were quite big pieces but once u put it in your mouth it was dry and broke up very quickly in your mouth, tasted a bit like it has been microwaved. Though the sauce was nice but the rice was just normal. I've had better chicken currys with pilau rice from Asda. It was quite disappointing but i had good company and when the bill arrived it was less than I had expected so that was a plus! Though one comment I have to make is about the toilets...clean yes, just they had all their cleaning products out on display. If I had children I would be quite concerned and most likely would not bring them here. But I don't think I will be coming here again but it was a lot better than Castle Balti in...
Read moreWent for what we thought would be a lovely meal out.. me, the Mrs and 2 kids.. (2&4) sat down.. within minutes the orders were taken.. no issues so far.. the signal is horrendous in the area so no phone signal.. 2year old kicking off.. asked if we could use WiFi to put cocomelon on for him.. told no, then given some rubbish reason why they couldnt, guess they'd rather him scream the building down and ruin it for everyone else..our starters were brought out while we were still sat eating our poppadoms, which made us feel very unwelcome and they wanted us out and away with our two small children. So due to a combination of all this we thought we'd abort the night.. paid for the rushed starter and drinks... we were only there 10mins roughly and said we had to pay for mains also as they were already cooked.. which to me futher highlight they wanted us out.. so we bit the bullet, paid our bill.. and made it back to our hotel to eat our now takeaway.... which wasn't nice at all.
Over priced Bad food Rude staff who basically stood watching you eat Bad...
