Thank you guys! Great prices, very frequently nice food, and very frequently good service, you looked after me most of the time, I wish it were always! I am sure you can get there đ. The one-star review is for inconsistency! My next rating will be five stars for sure.
Your challenge is the occasional inconsistencies in both service and food quality. You should catch these inconsistencies as they happen so that you can investigate them to perfect your business.
Today, I ordered lamb shish, one of my favourites. Unfortunately, it had a strong, bitter, unpleasant taste. I guess that the charcoal wasnât fully burnt, hence the unpleasant taste. I was there early, just after midday. I was greeted by the friendly chef, who explained that he was still in prep mode. I asked him to take his time, and I wasnât in a hurry. Later, I observed him in the kitchen moving two lit-up lumps of charcoal from the top of the cooker, I am guessing to light up other lumps of charcoal. This was about 10-15 minutes before I was served my food.
As I ate the meat, I could taste a strong, unpleasant, bitter taste, so I decided to give it up halfway through and just finish my salad and chips. I went to the till to pay and handed the waitress the money, and I reluctantly tried to guess the reason behind this unpleasant taste, and politely told the waitress, her reply took me by surprise as a regular customer, âWhy do you order meat if you are always complaining about our meat? Why donât you order chicken?â
I explained that her comment was unfair as I ordered many meat dishes from Asah in the past, including lamb shish, and enjoyed them. I donât often complain. But she persistently replied, âNo, you always complain about our meatâ. I also explained the chef may taste the meat, her answer was âNoâ he is busy. Then she gave me a smirk, which was really disappointing and inappropriate. The chef came out to tell me, âIf itâs the charcoal, I cannot do anything about itâ
I guess I was unfortunate that a couple of days ago I ordered a chicken fillet burger and it was very lemony and I couldnât eat it, and the chef offered to change it, so thank you! Perhaps other customers may like it that way.
No restaurant is perfect; my feedback is genuine for you to improve to be better than other restaurants in Watford. I am not a customer who tries to take advantage of you to receive a smirk and unfair comments; I genuinely want you to always do better.
Also, to the waitress, I don't mean to be rude, please know that when someone leaves their change behind after such a poor encounter, it is NOT a tip for your service; it is rather a sign of disconnect that your customer just wanted to get out.
Reply to Asah Comment:
Thank you for acknowledging that my meal was unacceptable yesterday, and I am a genuine customer. I gave you a five-star review previously. Sadly, now been deleted, and a one-star review remains. By not taking accountability and replying in such a non-constructive manner publicly, you are likely affecting your own business reputation and complementing the waitress's smirk.
I was fair in my review, and honestly, I am not interested in your fictional charged replies. Show your prospective customers that you can handle the occasional dissatisfaction due to your kitchen errors, instead of poorly replying to them; this is how you grow. The one-star review is a true reflection of the poor food and service quality I paid for yesterday. I was descriptive in stating the exact elements of poor service; there is no need for your charged reply,
It is disappointing that instead of taking accountability for this poor episode and trying to change the customer experience, you blame the customer for your own cooking. How can you feel proud that a regular customer (ex-five-star rater) left hungry, while you acknowledge the food had a problem? Please, don't play it down by saying imperfect, it was very bad, I had to drink 2L of water to get rid of...
Read moreThis place i think opened a couple a days ago and so we decided to give it a try as we just live down the road and we was fasting âŠwe got the asah platter for ÂŁ28.90âŠwen we got home the food did not contain the chips and wings missing and the food was very oily the lamb shish was broken in pieces and the food just looked so bland with literally no saltâŠwe called the restaurant and they did say we can come n pick it or we can pick it up next day now this was before we tried the foodâŠbut since after trying the food we have decided to not pick up the missing chicken wings and chips and have decided to not go back either. All the reviews u are seeing are either done by friends and family. This was literally a waste of money!! For a new restaurant that just opened the quality of the food should be good and you wouldnt miss out the food that comes...
Read moreI was in Atria Watford around lunchtime and thought about food, positive thinking indeed!
Searched around and found ASAH restaurant. Kurdish food, never had a go at this type of MEAT! What a shame đ
Mixed Grill, the choice and it was the right thing đč the meat was excellent, not dry and done to the right "my" level. Big portion and fresh salad and nicely cooked rice!
The topper - hot soup served before and free! Chickpea and some hint of meat in there but loved it.
The best part - 3 minutes walk from Atria Watford, very good price, the service and the food was...
