I'm a neurospicy (AuDHD), CPTSD and Body Dysmorphia, DV survivor squish who was out in town and unfortunately hit multiple triggers all in the space of about 20 minutes when out in town with my wonderful partner. After having a triggering time trying clothes on and feeling the mood regulation waining due to lack of food we stepped out onto the high street to eat to try and prevent a ADHD spiral, when stepping out onto the high street I hit multiple triggers relating to abusive ex partners including a horrific experience in front of a vile judge only in the last 3 months who spoke to me like scum. As we arrived at Cassio Lounge it all hit me hard and at once and I crumbled to tears into my partners arms at the door, bless the gentleman who greeted us as I was all teary as he could see but he received it with immense grace and kindness. I requested a table for 2 and then when we sat down, I crumbled even more and sobbed into my partners shoulder.
When walking back to the toilet one of the waitresses approached me and asked if I would like a drink to try and make my day a little better (they also asked my partner when I was in the bathroom).
Have always loved these lounges for the laid back vibe, great food and drinks and the staff are always usually lovely but today the team here really blew me away with their warmth, love and kindness.
The team and environment really was the warm hug I needed in that moment. The world can feel harsh sometimes especially for the neurodiverse or trauma affected and so it is rare to find spaces that feel safe and welcoming, so thank you so much today to the beautiful team for creating that environment. The world needs more love and kindness and wonderful souls - so thank you.
So much love and...
Read moreOn a recent trip to Watford with my fiancé, we decided to try out Cassio Lounge. I was a little disappointed at the ordering system but it wasn't going to ruin my experience.
What did ruin my experience was biting into my Chicken, Bacon and Avocado burger to find that the chicken wasn't cooked through.
I took my burger to the front desk where I showed it to the lady whom I believe to be the manager (she never identified herself), said she'd deal with it. She came to the table and offered to take it off the bill and give me anything off of the menu that I wanted. My stomach was already turning at the thought of eating raw chicken, so declined any more food and opted for a drink to calm my stomach.
I was then told that due to the way food is ordered (you pay by app or at the desk in advance) that I would have to wait for the head office to contact me to receive my refund. Disappointed, I left my contact details. This was a week ago and no one has contacted me or given me my money back.
To make matters worse I did experience an "upset stomach" that evening and had to cut down time with my family before I left to go home.
I would not...
Read moreUpdate: I appreciate the response I received from owner. Will try Cassio Lounge again and update my review based on that experience when I do. - - - - - - - - Entered Cassio lounge last night at 9:40pm. Was approached by one of workers and told to sit anywhere, to order food via QR code and collect drinks at bar.
When trying to order food by QR code, it kept hanging. I ended up approaching bar at 9:48pm to say our orders for food and drink aren't going through to then be casually told by same worker, yes the kitchen closes at 10pm so you cannot order food now.
Why didn't she tell us that as we entered? The website states it closes at 12am, if the kitchen closes earlier it should be stated on the website and workers should also advise customers on entry.
When I asked if that was new, another worker then proceeded to tell me that is their policy. I just asked if the 10 pm kitchen closing was a new thing, I don't need to hear it's your policy and it's also not a good thing to tell customers after offering bad service. It just aggravates them.
All in all a terrible experience...
