Awful experience, a waste of money and a stomach ache. Firstly we were told we had to order online, yet when we tried it did not work, after repeatedly trying and failing we asked a member of staff to take our order only to find out they did not have half of what we wanted and were out of chicken. After all this hassle they did not add our full order, we were missing items. We ordered calamari the description stated “sweet chilli” yet it was extremely spicy and when we called over a member of staff to address this she was very dismissive and patronising shoving the menu in my face saying that chilli means spicy. Just with a simple google search you can see that sweet chilli it’s mild, even kids friendly. The waitress name was Jwala and not only she was rude and rolling eyes even when we asked for the bill. There was no customer service, she did not once ask us how our experience was and after paying the bill she did not even say thank you or bye. Another very important thing is that all staff members should pay more attention to their hygiene. Soap and deodorant should be mandatory when you’re serving food so you don’t disgust the customers. All of us had a stomach ache, ofc we will never come back again. I will attach a photo for the public to see what a £8.50 calamari starter looks like.

Booked in advance. Table was ready for us when we arrived. Wasn’t very busy when we went. Monday night 7:30pm. A few other tables were in use as well. Only one member of staff manning all the tables and he did a wonderful job. Ordering was via an app which was easy to use. You scan the QR code and enter your table number and then you can place your order and add more items to the order as well. We paid on the payment machine with the help of the staff member. Mocktails, cocktails and pitchers are all 2for1 so great value. Drinks arrived within minutes of ordering. Tutti Frutti and blue lagoon were refreshing and tasty. The food was really delicious and portions were generous. Would have liked some spicy sauce to add onto my food but that’s my personal taste. I demolished the whole enchilada with ease. Very filling dish. Payment is by card only. You can pay via the app or ask the staff to help you. No cash payments are taken. We split the bill amongst 4 of us. The restaurant had a really nice atmosphere. Not too loud. A very cosy ambience. Lovely lighting and bright walls. Staff were really friendly and happy to answer any questions. Service was super fast. Food was served really fast. Would happily return again for a meal.

Service felt completely lazy. Granted, it was a Saturday lunch, but it wasn't particularly busy. The staff seemed to do minimal. We were told on arrival that we were to scan a QR code on our table to order. This, for some reason, would not load the website for me or my wife. After 5 mins of trying this, we flagged down the manager, and she was able to take our order. Our drinks arrived, and then shortly after our food, the waiter pretty much dropped the food and ran before we could ask for condiments. There was no check back to check everything was satisfactory with our mains. We finished eating, and we sat for 15 mins with plates that needed clearing. Our table (#34) was right in the centre of the restaurant in the direct path for staff, yet not one of the members of staff had the thought to clear our table. We could now use the website to order our deserts and a glass of water, so we piled the plates in the middle of our table to make space so the deserts could be dropped. About 2 two minutes before the desserts arrived, the manager noticed our plates and removed them from the table. Deserts arrived, and shortly later, a bottle of water and two glasses that were hot enough to burn your hand.

We ordered the beed burritos and beef tacos. We were surprised when it only took about 5 min to arrive. It's a restaurant, not a fast food shop. In fact the food was so fast, it was with us for another 5 min before the drinks arrived.

The smell of burnt (chargrilled) food was evident as soon as the burrito was put down. One side was beyond crispy and, in fact, solid. The other sides were squidgy. The contents were hotter than the surface of the sun. The manager explained that it's finished on a hot skillet. My guess is that it had been sat on that skillet for 10 min waiting for someone to order. It's half the size of any burrito you'd get elsewhere, but for over £15.

The taco main was pathetic. 2 tiny tacos for about £13 which were only just warm enough to eat without sending back.

The menu for beer and cider isn't labelled, so when I ordered what I thought was a beer, a cider was presented. It's not anyone's fault who works there, but it's just another problem.

And the coup de grace.....filthy cutlery. When I reached for a fork from the tub, I pulled out one that was used. Not dirty. Not marked. Fully used and covered in the remnants of someone's meal. I asked for it to be replaced, and a whole replacement tub of cutlery was brought out. I grabbed a fork and began eating. When I drew that fork out of my mouth, I noticed the white dressing from the dip that I was eating. I also noticed a load of red salsa that I hadn't put on the fork. Another used fork, which I'd just put in my mouth!

Tiny portions of overpriced food, filthy cutlery in multiple jars, lukewarm and burnt food, and food and drinks being delivered in the wrong order.

This felt like a bunch of people on their first night trying to operate...

I don’t know why I was excited to go here today. I don’t learn.

The reason was my son wanted Mexican food and coincidentally an email cam offering £15 bottomless tapas. What could possibly go wrong?

Booked via the phone as it was impossible to book the offer online.

Turned up bang on time. Keep in mind the restaurant was around 40% occupied. Do I have a booking I am asked. Yes, I say. Of course she can’t find it. Good job the call was recorded. She explained that they were fully booked but she would squeeze us in.

Seated, she asked if we understood how the bottomless tapas worked. We are allowed 6 dishes, amongst the four of us in the first order and then we can order in batches of 5. This is ridiculous but we went with it.

Given the first order too 30 minutes of our allowed 90 minutes we were no doing great.

The food was at best average. No Latin American is eating that I can assure you. There was no care or love put into the food or its presentation.

We asked to order more food and we were told, only after we had finished what we had. What? As a grown human I will not be told to clear my plate before I can order more.

The experience was poor.

What has happened to Las Iguanas. It used to fab. To be fair I don’t know if this nonsense is just the Watford branch or if this is how it is across all locations.

The person who appeared to be the duty manager does not have a clue about customer service. Her way of cleaning tables was also terrible, as she cleared a table next to us by brush any food waste on the table top onto the floor and left it there.

Maybe I’ll try another branch but Watford Las Iguanas, we are done.

Folks, save your money and go elsewhere. I...

Went for mid week evening meal, group of 6 adults. Restaurant was about a third full. We ordered drinks and food at the same time. The wait for drinks took a very long time and our food turned up before the drinks did. Our food order was 2 burrito bowls, 2 fish dishes, one enchilada and a crayfish salad. Of the hot dishes ordered, all were lukewarm at best and poorly presented. None of it looked very appealing and sadly nobody found the food very tasty either. I had a chipotle chicken burrito bowl that was lacking in any real flavour. All of us felt the portion sizes were small and didn't represent the price of the dishes charged. Food 1 star. The service across the whole evening was appalling. We sat for over an hour with our dirty dinner plates sat in front of us after we had finished eating. Nobody approached our table to clear down the plates or glasses or to ask if we wanted more drinks or desserts. In the end one of us had to go and find a waiter to ask them to clear down our table. When we were ready to leave, again one of us had to find a waiter to request the bill. Then we were left sitting at the table again as nobody came back to collect payment. So once again we had to physically find a waiter to take our payment. Service zero stars! They told us they do not accept cash payments, only card. Unsure if this was just on the day or if that's a permanent thing, so something to bear in mind. However this wont be something I need to consider as I certainly wont be returning. The only positive was the 2 for 1 cocktails deal, but overall the experience was very disappointing. There are plenty of other dining options in Watford, so I would avoid Las Iguanas and go...
