I recently visited Five Guys in Watford, and I have to say, it was a fantastic experience. The moment you walk in, the welcoming aroma of freshly cooked burgers and fries hits you – it’s hard not to feel hungry instantly. While Five Guys is widely known for its burgers, this time I decided to focus on a few other items, and I was not disappointed.
I ordered the Cajun fries, and honestly, they were hands down the best fries I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked with a crisp outside and soft, fluffy inside, the Cajun seasoning added just the right amount of spice and flavour without overpowering the potato. The portion size was generous, and the taste was absolutely addictive. It’s rare to find fries that hit the mark so perfectly, but Five Guys nailed it.
Alongside the fries, I tried two of their milkshakes – Mango and Strawberry. Both were incredibly thick and creamy, just the way a proper milkshake should be. The Mango shake had a rich, tropical flavour that felt refreshing and indulgent at the same time, while the Strawberry one was classic and sweet, with a natural fruitiness that didn’t taste artificial. The consistency was just right – thick enough to savour slowly, but smooth enough to enjoy every sip.
The staff were friendly and the service was quick, despite it being a busy afternoon. The place was clean and had a good atmosphere – perfect for a casual bite or a quick treat.
Overall, if you’re in Watford and craving something indulgent, Five Guys is definitely worth a visit. The Cajun fries alone are reason enough to return, and when paired with their rich, flavourful milkshakes, it makes for a truly satisfying meal. Highly...
Read moreHaving visited while in the states I was excited to try it back home in the UK. It tastes the same, but the price really hurts your wallet -- it's much more expensive here. You'll be spending around £14 if you get a full meal of a burger, fries and a drink so it's not your ordinary cheap, fast food place. The fries are the highlight of Five Guys, always. I would happily go in just to order the fries alone.
As for this particular establishment: when I went in, both drinks machines were nearly empty or had run out of whatever liquid they use to give the fizzy drinks their fizz because 3 different drinks I tried were all flat. I mentioned this to the staff and I was told this would be fixed ASAP. I sat and waited with my food for 30 minutes and still no one went to fix the problem. This was a very slow day, there were only about 8 other customers there. Annoyed I spent so much money on a large drink and never ended up getting it. I walked out frustrated without asking for a refund on the drink (in hindsight, I should have), only to be slightly cheered up by the...
Read moreFive Guys Watford delivers exactly what you’d expect from the brand—top-tier burgers, crispy fries, and genuinely great service—but with a local touch that makes it feel even better. From the moment I walked in, the team was friendly, efficient, and clearly took pride in what they were doing.
The food? Incredible. The burger was cooked perfectly to order, juicy and loaded with toppings (the customisation options are unmatched), and the fries—those iconic, golden, peanut-oil-fried beauties—were generous and piping hot. The milkshake? A game-changer. Try the vanilla with salted caramel and peanut butter—you won’t regret it.
