I work as an Internet Santa doing Zoom calls to families. I had a lot of calls today and decided that it would be good to have a take-away curry rather than to have to cook. I knew I would be finished about 6.15 and so ordered a delivery for 7.00 p.m. Fearful that they might try to deliver earlier, I left instructions not to deliver before 6.30. I cannot go to the front door when I am in the middle of a Santa call. I have a notice on my front door stating that I cannot come to the door and to leave deliveries on the mat. I had also ordered a āCovid secureā delivery by having the bag left by the door. Whist I was on a Santa call just after 6.00 p.m. there was loud knocking on my door and then on my window, not once, but twice. When I had finished my call I switched on my phone to discover that they had got through to my voicemail but didnāt leave a message. I phoned them and they made a not very sincere sounding apology and offered nothing by way of a gesture of good will. I suggested some additional food but in the end all they offered me as a fizzy drink. I told them I am diabetic and donāt drink those. I told them if they didnāt make a gesture I would not use them again. He appeared resigned to that (possibly though repeated experience?). I would have thought that in these difficult times for restaurants that they would have wanted to appease me, but no. It appeared that he had not bothered to read my note about not before 6.30 and that he thought that a delivery at 6.00 for one requested at 7.00 was acceptable. He said he would cook my order again. It arrived at 650. There was a knock on the door and the was a man not wearing a mask with the carried bag in his hand. I pointed out that I had requested a Covid secure delivery and he looked at me as if I was mad. Again no apology for not bothering about failing to comply with my instructions. The food was very ordinary and lukewarm, and I can see why no attempt was made to keep me as a customer as I would have been unlikely to use them again on the standard of food alone. Avoid them...
Read moreOrdered from Just Eat - around £60, 5-6 dishes. food came quickly. The standard of the food however...: Oily is an understatement. Literally puddles of oil in the dishes, my family and I had to use a spoon to 'try' to remove..Regardless, there was still so much! Genuinely couldn't believe how much oil there was, it was actually quite comical. I see another review complaining about the oil to which the owner responded with 'this is how it's cooked'. Never, ever, in my many, many experiences with Indian/Bangladeshi food have I ever seen so much oil in the dishes. And they tasted better than this! Ordered 2 Garlic Naans..these were okay..rather dough-y though, had much better. The chicken tikka starter was once again..you guessed it..oily. And also, at the same time, extremely dry. Makes me wonder if it had been left out, or was old. Paid extra in our chicken curry dishes for chicken tikka instead of standard chicken breast, and despite it being surrounded by oil and curry sauce, it was dry. Lamb dish was quite nice, apart from the obligatory oil. The mint sauce for the poppadoms was orange? But seemed to taste okay..? Weird though! Overall, it could be worse..I think..but definitely have had better from many,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe most discusting food ever! Arrived late after giving directions of where to deliver. The delivery guy wouldnt even get out of his car to find our house and we had to collect it in the street from them? Food cold, very over spiced with chillie powder and very poor quality, in fact a take away from the supermarket has been better at less than a third of the price! A veg currie was frozen veg in a tepid weak sauce! Another dish did not contain fresh salad as described in the menu. Simply the food wasnt even good enough for our cats, they refused the "meat?" The most disapointing takeaway ever and a total rip off! The colour dies and cheep chillie spice powder were shocking, ive spent far less money for real, carefully prepared food, how on earth can anyone order from here? A genuine review having been so...
