Hello!
I have decided to give a review to this restaurant because I was not happy with the overall experience. I never leave reviews of this kind, but this time I felt like I have to.
First of all, me and my husband we’ve been in this kind of restaurants before so we knew what to expect.. Delicious food!
When we enter, it was freezing cold inside. People were wearing their jackets. Even the person in charge or the only waitress there, had her jacket on. But, we said, ok.. the food must be good if there are still people there ( at that time 4). So the entire 1h we sat there dressed like outside.. and I’m a person that loves the cold. Although not when I’m eating inside a restaurant. If I wanted to eat outside, I would choose the street food. I imagine it can be difficult times for everyone but as a restaurant or place where you provide a service for customers, you should be prepared for this kind of situation and find solutions to heat up the space. Outside was around 3°C.
Secondly, we went to choose our sides on the buffet. Nothing to choose, apart from some nice warm potatoes. It was a single salad but made in 3 different ways. One with red cabbage, one coleslaw and the other one had raisins in it. The middle one was frozen. I put one spoon of each but couldn’t eat. It wasn’t fresh. Felt like it was there 2 days before. They had some roast with sauce which was actually decent to eat.
Another decent thing was a little cheese bread that they had. Also stone cold and not fresh, but it was edible. At this point our expectations were very low about the actual meet that supposed to come soon. And this is exactly how everything was. I cannot name the specific type of meat but we know it’s mainly beef. I’ll try and make an order as they came:
The chicken sausage was a bit uncocked and not tasty..the chicken wings very dry and again old and reheated. Not a big fan of chicken hearts so I won’t say anything about that. Here comes the beef: the ribs were hard and chewy, no salt or pepper. Tasted like boiled raw beef, couldn’t chew and I’ve put it aside. The second beef course was pretty good but too raw. I’ve literally tasted only the “crust”. My husband likes it rare to medium but he felt like the beef was alive also. The third one was actually good but extremely salty. And that’s about it.
The only thing I love is the pineapple which I requested earlier, twice. But when you go to this kind of restaurant, you expect to actually eat food, not only the pineapple 😊. All together was a really bad and unfulfilling experience. I’ve had tummy aches straight after, I assume from the salads.
The sauces selection is nothing spectacular. Just a bottle of each type of sauce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, garlic sauce, and a finished bottle of sweet chilli sauce. Not satisfied at all with the service. I’ve seen the waitress made an orange fresh juice and then with her sticky hand from the oranges, handled the juice to a customer and try and hide the sticky hand on her back. Right after the juice, she gave us the bill ( as requested 2 times and she said she forgot). We were 14 people at the restaurant, 6 tables. 5 tables of 2 people, and 1 of 4…so in this kind of restaurant not much to handle, apart from drinks.
I was asked if everything is ok, at the beginning and I said okay but I didn’t know what was to come. At the end, I just wanted to get out of there as soon as possible so I can go food shopping 😊.
My opinion is that they don’t deserve 4.4 stars. But maybe they had a bad day and I just happened to be in it. I am not looking for anything free. I just wanted to say my opinion about this restaurant. So, even tough sometimes something has a good score of review, that doesn’t mean you should go for it. But you wouldn’t know until...
Read moreBy far the best restaurant in Watford. This is just my opinion. I've lived in Watford nearly 10+ years and I have to say it has been a chore to find a place to eat that makes me excited. It usually is what is the best-ish.
Today I visited Terra Brazil Rodizio and I wasn't disappointed, I was blown away. The food is amazing, the pictures you see are not stock pics but exactly what you see is what you will see when you visit. The owner and all staff were hands on, accommodating for my restless toddler and 3 pre teen fussy eaters. If you don't find anything you like you are seriously fussy. I cannot sing the praises highly enough, the Rodízio came out fast and regular, we had to refuse some of the meats as we were battling hard. The portions are generous, and the steak..Mwaah.
I am waiting for a take out menu to start but until then, I will be ordering as if to sit down and eat, and then take it home.( It is the most but so so very worth it) Value for money, 6 of us are and drank and the meal was not even £100( it was close enough though😉).
These guys need to be on the map, this is a place I would go with the girls, or out with mates. It has been a great find this place, but it is a well kept secret it seems in Watford, and this needs to change. Oh you don't have to have the grill, there is a buffet too, rammed with all sorts of delights, cooked beans, meats, rice. I didn't use the loo, but my family did and I heard no complaints, not even one and I do have a moaning mini..ha
I ate as much as I could this time round. I will have to strategise for the next time, I won't be beaten. I'm coming prepared for the deliciousness overload.
I hope you go and check this place at, they are good people's. I've no pics, as I was too busy eating. The...
Read moreEasily the worst Brazilian restaurant experience I have ever had – in Watford or anywhere else.
Let’s start with the buffet: bland, clearly not fresh, and falsely advertised as “traditional.” It’s a halal restaurant, so naturally there’s no pork – yet they still label dishes like feijoada as “authentic,” which is misleading at best. Ironically, there is pork sausage served on the rodízio, so the logic is completely inconsistent.
The rodízio itself was a disaster. The meat was flavourless, overcooked, and dry to the point of being inedible. I was served a rock-hard piece of picanha and a leathery slice of maminha—enough for me to leave halfway through the meal. It was genuinely some of the worst-quality meat I’ve encountered in a Brazilian steakhouse.
Service? One poor front-of-house staff doing absolutely everything—seating guests, taking orders, serving the rodízio, then running back to greet new customers. It felt chaotic, unprofessional, and understaffed to an unacceptable level.
And the price? £34.99 per person—outrageous for what’s essentially a glorified corner bar (boteco) passing itself off as a proper Brazilian restaurant. For comparison, Sabores—a much smaller, simpler Brazilian spot in Watford—delivers far better quality and value for money. Today’s experience wasn’t worth more than £20 per head. I ended up paying over £80 for a meal that left me disappointed, frustrated, and frankly embarrassed.
If you’re Brazilian or know what proper Brazilian food should taste like, avoid this place. If you’re a foreigner or local unfamiliar with the cuisine, please don’t judge Brazilian food based on this restaurant. This was a failed attempt at a traditional rodízio, and no wonder places like this don’t last long. A...
