I live in Guildford and always go back to this gem. Random find a few years ago. Had 3 starters between two people, they are all good sized portions but we’re greedy. Had the arancini, 3 big crispy rice balls and a big very tasty pot of tomato sauce, and the king prawns in white wine creamy sauce also incredibly tasty. Also had the stuffed mushrooms, delicious! About 5-6 medium to small sized mushrooms for one portion. Received a basket with 4 slices of sourdough bread, unsure which startee this was for but we had it with the leftover sauce from the prawn dish. For main course, my partner had the penne al forno, with chicken and pepperoni, it was mildly spicy and full of flavour. I had the pizza Regina with extra red peppers. Now the pizza is the reason i always come back here, very thin and crispy and you can’t stop eating it. Even ended up getting another pizza to have at home later because we are night workers and usually have another meal around 4 am. We shared a banoffee pie and whilst it doesn’t look like much it was fantastic ! The service was lovely, we had 3 people come to our table over the evening and everyone was very friendly. I wouldn’t say it’s a very expensive place, considering the portion sizes and quality. Cannot praise this place enough. Great atmosphere, busy on a Tuesday evening but we didn’t book and it was fine, not very loud either. Very relaxing and comfortable vibes.

My partner & I went here last night! The starter 'bastoncini dorati' was delicious! The crispy bread crumbs were spot on around the fresh juicy king prawn! Straight away our taste buds were tingling! Then came the mains. My partner had a rib eye which was recommended to have medium! It was cooked to perfection & the gorgonzola sauce was lovely with it! I had the spaghetti con polpette! It was delicious again! The spicy tomato sauce tasted so fresh with just the right amount of spice! The meatballs were fat & tasted great too it was like being back in Italy! Next came the puddings! My partner had bannoffe pie & I had the Tiramisu! Both looked incredible when they arrived! My partner said hers tasted great & my tiramisu was honestly the best I've ever had! It was so light, fluffy & just the right flavours! The staff were also very friendly without being overbearing & offered advice on the dishes. The decor & the building is very nice too! I especially liked the little piece on the back of the menu which gave the history of the building which was a nice touch! We will 100% be back in the future & it will be my new go to when friends & family visit! Thank you

We came from London to visit our friends. They recommended having lunch at Caffe Piccolo. The restaurant has lovely decorations with a positive vibe. The owner came to welcome us and gave us a table upstairs. He gave us some information about the building's history. All the foods are made fresh. The taste was one of the best Italian I have tried. The lady who served us was very nice and friendly. The Lasagna was fabulous. My wife tried Chicken Pasta, but she asked to have tomato-based sauce instead of the usual creamy sauce. It was delicious. We would surely visit this place regularly if we were living locally. And if you live locally, you should try this place.

Cafe Piccolo is owned by Darius, who you will likely see when you visit. Darius sets himself and his restaurant apart by being individual and this is exemplified by his willingness to make the customer feel special. You want something special? Darius goes to the kitchen and out comes special. I challenged him to create an Italian style burger. Something which would fit the menu and the ethos of the restaurant. A cheeky ask but I figured meatballs could become burgers and pizza dough the bun. What he immediately did was to go to the kitchen and work with the chef to create a new sauce for a Meatball Pizza. So out came the pizza with a garlic and chilli sauce and big meatballs. It was fantastic. Ask him for the Meatball Pizza, let him know you want it! So, yes he gets 5 stars. Great food and a great customer attitude without compromising the authenticity of the restaurant. And thanks to the chef too, who must has...
