I needed to grab some decent and not too pricey lunch and it has not been easy to do so in Farnham! The Plough was serving Mexican food at the time and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. Never been a big fan of Mexican food and the portion looked very small. But the pulled pork, fried fish and mushroom taco were packed with flavour and filled my tummy up nicely, washed down with a Whitstable Bay lager. Nice. Oh and free dessert from the chef as well!

Great pub on the edge of Farnham town centre. It's one of the best live music venues in the area, with plenty of space for a four or five-piece to set up comfortably, leaving acres of room for the punters. There is a good selection of keg beers and real ales, all kept well, a new American-style menu (wings n burgers), large garden and friendly staff. Definitely recommended for a good night out 👍🏻

Lovely hidden cafe shop in one of the tranquil narrow path ways in Guildford high street. Lovely food but a very tiny setting gives a pretty squashed feeling when you are inside during the bad weather. A couple of tablets are placed outside if you are lucky you might grab a seat.

So my brother wanted to book this for my nephews 16th as a suprise. So I offered to plan it. Also a little worried how as I live 2 hours away. But all was done with ease due to the fantastic planning. I called to book and was advised to email to confirm numbers. I was put in touch with Jasmine who was absolutely fantastic. She explained everything ie pre-ordering bbq platters as they are made to order etc. I was half expecting to have to pre-order the whole thing as there was 17 of us, but we didnt. I explained I wanted to decorate and not only was there no issues, Jasmine offered to decorate for me, which reduced a lot of stress. She did a fantastic job, much better than I would have. Banners, balloons, table decorations, napkins all 16th themed.

Now the food - wow to be honest not one critism was said from anyone in our group and there was silence when everyone was eating, which never happens. The BBQ trays were insane, all the meat just melted in your mouth. The burgers were the best ive ever tasted. The loaded fries were delicious. I can't recommend any one item because it was all equally amazing. There were some fussy eaters in our group and all the orders were correct. There was not one complaint with the food from our group and there was not much left over. If there was it was due to people being full as the portion are big. If you can make room, the puddings and milkshakes are also delicious.

The price- all very reasonable and I believe it equated to 23.00 per head for our group and that included a well deserved tip.

Now the service- perfect timing. We opted to order our drinks at the bar which is helpful when you have such a big group. The food was brought out in good time with the size of the order. All piping hot. The two staff we saw serving managed to serve us, the other customers, deal with deliveries, serve at the bar and everything else. All with no stress (not that they showed it). They were all very friendly and helpful.

I was suprised to hear that we may have been one of the first big groups, but hearing they are keen to get more in i felt it was important to take time to review. This was a perfect location for a 16th birthday gathering and my nephew had the most amazing time. I would recommend this for anyone wanting a relaxed group gathering with delicious food.

With reviews I like to add things that could be improved. The nothing I think could be is possibly the website. Its hard to make contact as there is only a telephone number. If a link where you can send a message or even add an email onto the website for enquiries. Not everyone like to pick up the phone and if your busy it maybe missed.

Thank you for going above and beyond for our group. Its the little touches that make all...

To start with, the food here is truly excellent, the burgers were 10/10 especially. Staff are friendly, atmosphere is nice.

However, tonight we came out for dinner and were left waiting around an hour for our food, it appears that the order was missed out somehow. The front of house staff were great and it's not their fault, these things happen.

My problem is since the last time I visited in April, the size of the chips portion has reduced by more than half. This sounds like nothing, but meant that we were sharing basically about 20 chips with some sauce on them. Back in April I stopped in and was really impressed by the food so I bought my wife in tonight for a rare date night once we had child care arranged. The order went wonky, these things happen, but the huge reduction in the side meant that we were both feeling a bit less than satisfied after all unreasonably long wait for it to arrive.

To add literal insult to injury, the pub owner/manager was sat near us with his friends and overheard me speaking to the server about the change up. Maybe it was a long day, maybe he wasn't in the best mood, but he went on to challenge me about my opinion on the sides. According to this guy, £27 on food (ignoring the 25 quid we spent on drinks) should not mean we should be full, apparently we did not spend enough so of course we should still be a bit hungry. A portion of chips should not be enough to feed two people. Waiting an hour for service is tough luck because it's busy (it wasn't that busy, people on our bench were being served, they literally lost the order).

Listen, I get stuff happens. I get that costs go up - maybe keep the portions the same and charge more in that case. If the manager didn't get involved we would have left mildly miffed but fine, but as it is after speaking to him we left our drinks on the table and went somewhere a more welcoming. I've never had such a rude encounter eating out and it left us really deflated. Getting out when you have a kid is hard work, this was our first night out for a while. And so to get let down on service and then basically told to eff off for our trouble put a very sour note on the whole thing.

I've been recommending this place since I first found it, but now I say don't bother, the guy running the place is not the kind of bloke I want to give money to any more. Burger 10/10, manager can go jump...

Visited the Plough today ,around 5.30pm with my wife and son , the bar was empty and the lady behind the bar was engrossed in a moaning session with a customer . I stood less than a foot away from her listening for a few minutes and it was clear I was not going to be spoken to , my wife came up to the bar and said lets go somewhere else please ... we left and looked around to see the lady walk off away from the bar into a back area ...she was not even aware of us ! We went to a Cafe Piccolo a few doors down and had few beers and snacks there .... they were a much better choice as the staff were friendly and...
