Miah Traditional Indian Restaurant And Takeaway — Restaurant in Wealden

This Indian restaurant is one of two located just a stone's throw from each other. Naturally, we decided to try the busier-looking spot first, only to find out they were fully booked. Not wanting to trek back across the main road to the empty Indian restaurant, we hesitated but were soon drawn in by the amazing aromas wafting from inside.

To our delight, the quality and taste of the food far exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised and definitely plan to return. It's baffling why the restaurant across the road was packed while this gem was so quiet—it truly deserves much more recognition!

We noticed takeout orders were flying out the door, indicating that might be their main focus. However, we were warmly welcomed to dine in. The fantastic flavors and generous portion sizes were a great value for the reasonable prices.

I have been using the Miah for over 10 years but sadly will not be doing so again. I ordered online and food was due at 7pm for collection. I had to wait until 7.35 to get the food. One item was not available so I had to choose an alternative. When I finally got home I was missing a rice dish. I called the restaurant and all they suggested was that I came back out again or they take it of my next bill, they refused to deliver the missing item. The take away was a weekend treat but but ended up being stressful and eating too late so will not use again. A great shame as the food as ever was delicious. Personally I feel the service has declined significantly as they are unable to effectively manage phone orders, orders online from their own site and just eat orders. Maybe going back to one ordering system would improve the situation...

So ordered through their own online booking system as we were trying to help them by cutting out Just Eat fees. Ordered at 18.35, it said 25 min until pick up. Arrived at 19.00 hrs to collect, several people waiting despite sign saying you must order and pay online and collect at a set time. There were several people including the delivery driver all chatting indoors, no masks. Finally the food was handed out at 19.35. Got home, changed into comfy clothes for a relaxing evening before checking order. A Pilau rice missing! Called them and they said we have to come collect it, no chance as we’ve got changed into PJ’s. Man said he’d add to next order... no we won’t go back. Very rude, don’t care attitude. My partner has used them for over 10...
