This is a pub on the beach, what's not to like? (See the moonlit beach video). Staff are down to earth and friendly, food is good but basic, views are fantastic and there's (paid) parking nearby.
It can be a bit windy even on a warm day (but I'm not one for sitting outside in the UK , so I might be a bit biased) but the view makes it worthwhile.
The venue is also available to hire for events. They provide a buffet service, though the one I saw was somewhat small and very limited in variety for the £500 price tag (I see a lot of hotel buffets at my events, and this was not on a par with those for value). Hence the lower food score, the pub grub was nice but the buffet wasnt great value.
Staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful all evening, and the atmosphere was great. Despite it being a beautiful night outside, the ambience keep everyone in the party.
It's hard to find, as Google navigation will take you to a dead end back alley behind the venue (which as I found is too small to turn a medium sized van in). Instead, aim for the public car park and walk...
Read moreOn holiday popped in 3 times, had lunch twice with drinks and drinks in the evening another night all with my family. Can't fault the food or the bar, however found my car blocked in the car park. After asking around, it appeared to belong to the attached accommodation. I knocked on the door and asked if they owned the car and could they move it PLEASE. An obnoxious beaded man appeared accused me of being rude, I explained the car was blocking in 3 vehicles. He subsequently took his time moving the vehicle, fiddling about with dog baskets and then a dog while smiling at me!!. I am a man of little patience and my wife was holding me from getting out of my car and confronting the man. When he did move the car the owner of the bar appeared too. Not a word from him. Sadly my money will be spent elsewhere while l complete my holiday and by my family who are following me down next week will not be visiting the bar. Families that spend money on food and drinks with no budget are in short supply and should be looked after. Not short of £250 was spent by me...
Read morehad a cracking time in the aqua bar, great food and atmosphere, the vibes in the place were brilliant with such a diverse range of communities, furthermore i was pleasantly surprised to find out The Aqua Bar is the first openly gay Bar in Pevensey which made me feel very welcome as I myself are a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
As for my food and drink recommendations I went with the classic indian curry with a cheeky british twist of fish and chips in it. For the drink I would highly recommend the halal beer It had a nice strong tangy hopp flavour, it was brilliant!. It is a secret sensation so you need to ask the bartender for it.
Additionally, The Aqua Bar had designated muslim prayer rooms which were sadly closed when i went which I was a bit disappointed by, nevertheless they are highly tolerant and respectful to all immigrants, muslims and gay people.
To conclude this is one of the best bars i have been to in a while, thanks to all the staff and chef's for catering...
