Dropped in here on Saturday craving a full english to satisfy my hunger.
First time visitors having done some googling on good local cafeās for breakfast in Welwyn Garden City.
Thereās some outside seating which looked rather pleasing but we opted for indoors. A modern interior with a mix of tables and an open booth type arrangement along one wall which we opted for.
The staff were warm, helpful and friendly through your our visit.
I ordered the full english and my partner the scrambled egg option with a mug of tea and a healthy smoothy to ease the guilt of the fry up!
Two rounds of toast, egg, hash brown, bacon, beans, tomato, mushrooms, sausage is what turned up for me for £7.95.
Sadly at best it was average and well below par given the price mark. The sausage was one of those cheap ones that doesnāt really taste of meat. The hash brown which I claim was greasy but my partner thinks was maybe onion, didnāt seem right either.
My partner loved hers and with the addition of my mushrooms was more than happy although we both agreed that at the price better things had been expected.
Maybe the breakfast was not on form as the baked potato that turned up on he table next to us looked awesome!
A mixed bag with regards to the food, but for service and a great...
Read moreVery very disappointed, both the drinks and food order was incorrect and had to be returned to the chef's kitchen. My dear friends chicken wrap had no more than 5 little pieces of chicken and was rather bland, in his own words "bloody over priced and could have got better from Asda", overall he wasn't happy. My other dear friend had a potato with sausage, he usually likes a good amount of sausage but sadly Trio didn't deliver. In his words "I wish there was more sausage in my potato". Finally my other dear friend ordered a Americano but was given a rather unsatisfactory white coffee, this was returned as he only likes it black. Last but not least I just didn't enjoy the whole atmosphere, the restaurant (café) was very cramped and we were packed in like a tin of sardines, this wasn't satisfactory and I was very very troubled by this situation due to my social anxiety issues. Throughout the whole meal my dear friend Frederick was practically sitting on my lap. Overall I don't think I shall be returning any time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy favourite place to eat in town. Every time I've been here the food and service has been excellent, even when busy. The home made Turkish meze are fantastic, especially the little courgette fritters. Everyone in my family loves it here, there's something for everyone. I would even go as far as saying it's the best restaurant for vegetarians in Welwyn Garden City. Make sure you try the Borek, little triangular parcels of crisp filo pastry with a tangy feta middle. I've taken friends visiting from London and they love it too. Thank goodness for independent run local restaurants/cafes. They're a dying breed in the town but Cafe Trio is better than any chain or fast food place. From all day breakfasts to calamari this place has it all and the service is...
