Extremely Disappointed After Years of Loyalty – Health Concerns at Moe’s Peri Peri I’ve been a regular customer at Moe’s Peri Peri for the past 13 to 14 years. I also happen to work for the company that manages the energy centre behind the shop, so I’ve witnessed this business grow from the start, including multiple management changes. Until recently, every management team has been friendly, professional, and has continuously improved the quality of the food.
Unfortunately, my recent experiences under the current management have been extremely disappointing—and concerning enough that I doubt I’ll be returning.
Visit 1 – August 7th:
My colleague and I ordered two naan wraps. Both were served with what appeared to be leftover chicken from the previous day. We didn’t want to make a fuss, but after a few bites, the chicken was clearly off—completely inedible. We were worried it might lead to food poisoning, so we reported it to the staff at the counter. They replaced my wrap, but even the new one had the same old, unpleasant smell. We ended up leaving most of the food and walking out.
Visit 2 – August 28th:
We gave the place another chance and ordered two half chicken meals. When the food arrived, we noticed they had added three chicken wings on top of the already small half chickens. At first, everything seemed okay—I started with the chicken and rice, which tasted fine. But as soon as I bit into one of the wings, I could tell something was wrong. On the second bite, the smell confirmed it—the wings were rotten. I felt like I was about to vomit and had to rush to the washroom to clean my mouth.
I immediately informed the staff at the counter and asked the server to try the chicken himself. He refused and said, “Sorry.” No genuine concern or action was taken. This is entirely unacceptable.
Later that afternoon, I began feeling stomach cramps, and by the evening, I was suffering apparent symptoms of food poisoning—running to the toilet at least seven times.
Final Thoughts:
I’m writing this not just out of frustration, but as a severe warning to other customers. This kind of negligence is dangerous. The fact that they are serving leftover chicken—especially wings, which are already inexpensive—just to cut costs suggests they prioritise profits over public health.
If they genuinely cared about hygiene and their customers' well-being, they would never serve food that could cause someone to get sick.
There are many great food spots in this area. I strongly recommend avoiding Moe’s Peri Peri under its current management until it addresses these serious food...
Read moreThis is a good restaurant which serves nice food. It is good value and the food is cooked well. They have had ups and downs in the past, but it is consistently good now for a long time. Big improvement in cleanliness and they now look after the seating and wipe down tables a lot more, it used to get a bit grimey but now they have enough staff and they look after it in there. Lots of the staff have been there a while so I hope they are looking after them well as well.
Kitchen always looks nice and clean and efficient now.
Chicken is very good but hot is not too hot, unless you get in a wrap and then it seems to be much hotter. They have sauce if it isn't spicy enough. The chips are pretty good and the spicy rice is delicious and much healthier than chips.
The mixed salad is also surprisingly nice with lots of sweetcorn and mixed leaves and things which make it taste good, not a standard boring takeaway salad.
Speaking of salad they don't put much lettuce in the wrap or burger which is a shame as a little pinch more would be good in things like breast burger and chicken wrap
The moes beef burgers are nice and all halal type stuff so no pork which is good for pigs and your health. They also sell "lit buns" burgers which are very nice burgers and much nicer than the moes ones, but the chips on the lit bun menu are nothing special, same with the chicken nuggets on that menu.
Good opening hours and good food cooked fresh at good prices. Better food and value than nandos, you just don't get the decor and refill drinks but I will choose moes over nandos nine times out of ten because the food is that good. Hope they keep it up and I will be going there...

Quick service and friendly staff are always appreciated in a restaurant setting, so it's good to hear that Moe's Diner excels in these areas.
the grill food at Moe's Diner is the best, particularly highlighting the Pakistani grill dishes. This suggests that they excel in preparing and serving flavorful grilled food. It's worth noting that you compared it to Nando's, indicating that the taste and quality are on par or even better.
It's great to hear that Moe's Diner can accommodate large groups and nicer seating, as this is often a challenge for many restaurants. The new decorations have also enhanced the dining experience and added to the overall ambiance of the place.
the flavors of the food are really good, which is an important aspect of any dining experience. Additionally, the average pricing is reasonable and within an acceptable range, providing good value for money.
Lastly, you mentioned the decent dessert options, specifically fondant and milkshakes. It's always a plus when a restaurant offers enjoyable desserts to end the meal on a sweet note.
Overall, based on the aspects you highlighted, Moe's Diner appears to be a great choice for those looking for halal food, quick service, friendly staff, and flavorful Pakistani grill dishes. The new decorations and reasonable prices further enhance the...
