Dined in for a second time, only 2 other people in so the service was quick but very little atmosphere. Ordered sticky rice with main meal which came in a cute little basket. Once opened the rice was then in plastic bag, squeezed it out and was in a solid lump! Complained to waitress when asked if food was ok but the response ‘once it’s in the sauce it’ll be fine’. No it wasn’t! It appeared to be so overcooked it was hard to break up. The menu said sticky rice not brick rice. A Thai restaurant ought to get the rice right. I also ordered salt and pepper chips, these were a small bucket of frozen chips (fine) but the salt & pepper element was literally a teaspoon of possibly chicken mince (?) onion and peppers placed on top. Pretty tasteless and unappealing for £5. Won’t order those again. Other than that the main was tasty and a reasonable portion. The decor is extremely random but all could have been forgiven for great all round food. Fell a bit short...
Read moreOur 1st visit to the newly opened Little Sam Thai Restaurant in Ormskirk and got to say the food and service was fantastic. We have recently just returned from Thailand so in a good place to compare and it was very authentic! As the restaurant has just opened they currently do not have a alcohol licence which meant a quick dash to B&M and we could bring our own drinks in and enjoy. The restaurant is small but cosy and if I am being really picky would prefer more traditional far eastern music and maybe images of Thailand on the walls. The staff are very welcoming and very nice to hear the traditional Thai greetings and phrases being spoken. Like I said the food was spot on, we had Sweet & Spicy Seabass, Chicken Massamun curry with egg fried & Thai sticky rice with spring rolls for starters and can highly recommend all. Will be back and also grabbing the odd takeaway from...
Read moreWent for tea on a Saturday night at 5:30pm, there was people being turned away as there was no tables left so I would recommend booking in advance.
I have been to a few Thai places in and around Liverpool and this is up there with the best, considering value for money I would say this is the best I've been to.
The service was excellent, attentive, happy staff who can't do enough for you. It is a small restaurant so the atmosphere is a little quiet but this will suit a lot of people as it was very easy to have a conversation.
The food was exceptional, full of flavour, good portion sizes and high quality ingredients. Stand out dishes included the papaya salad, salt & pepper ribs, salt & pepper squid, pork dumplings & prawn drunken noodles.
I will definitely be back to try more...
