The Sweyn Forkbeard - JD Wetherspoon — Restaurant in West Lindsey

A very unfortunate visit to weatherspoons today. After almost five years of getting a daily drink with my friend and an average of 4 days per week eating meals in there in addition to the afternoon drink. Believing to be friends with the owner Amanda and her family who also work there Ethan and Kiran, always thinking and speaking incredibly highly of them. Alas that was not the case, they were never our friends they never even cared about us. Without any warning we have received a year ban from the pub. The friend which i would visit weatherspoons with had a funny conversation with Ethan about ducks over a year ago, after seeing some ducks for sale at a market he thought it would be funny to see how long it takes him to remember by leaving one duck with his name on in the bar for him to find when we would see him on shift. He has over reacted incredibly negatively after checking CCTV, (all ducks were placed in front of one of their CCTV cameras expecting him to eventually check, see my friend and remember the funny conversation.) Nope he's had a go and said we're banned and he doesn't appreciate it. Not even a conversation. Oh well guess weatherspoons Gainsborough can lose roughly £5k per year which we were spending in there. Always been good from opening when family had free meal . Wife recommends breakfast but not eat as much as you want . Changed overtime from no children and no music which we thought was better to enjoy your food without the row from children . No parking but paid parking nearby . Toilets very good and clean but upstairs with a disabled toilet downstairs . Can be busy and off putting trying to get served , often drinkers pushing in . Gainsborough has a large no work culture but find money to drink cheaper drinks here than the local pubs that still remain open . Table cleaning has always been not very good but new manager , our Grandson , seems to be on top of things .

Update . Still seem short on staff 🤔 , tables need to be cleaned more often , ready for next customer . Had breakfast today , still a very dry breakfast , needs tomatoes , tinned , but black pudding and tomatoes 🍅 are extra . Cannot compare to the ' all you can eat ' breakfasts in other pub chains . Lunch was a difficult and illogical experience. Firstly, ordering at the bar for the restaurant service meant I lost my table twice and had to ask the other customers to leave and give me the back because my order at the bar would have to be delivered at the table number which I had used the menu in the first instance. The steak and kidney pudding was ok but the mashed potato was dry and hard. There were not enough peas, and the gravy was too thin and pi**y.

Finally the apple crumble and custard. The proportions were wrong. There was too little custard for the amount of the crumble. Finally there was what was like a fish scale type hard thing in the...
