I really regret having to give this review as I have been in several times for coffee and never had a problem. We went for Valentines meal, having booked a couple of weeks in advance. On arrival we was told the band had cancelled the day before and that no other band would be playing, so they would give us an extra free glass of Proseco, at no point was we notified of this or anything put on Facebook so people knew. We were then seated as a couple on a table made for 4/6 with the settings being at either sides. The service throughout the night was the worst I have ever experienced anywhere. All courses of food had delays, 30 minutes for the starter which was 3 tiny scallops (in total 1 full scallop size) with a dessert spoon of salad. 45 minutes for the main, mash and pork tenderloin..... this was sliced into 5 about 8mm thicknesses and cooked separately and well overdone. Then 20 minutes for the dessert of a potted cheesecake and ramekin of ice cream. On 1 of the multiple apologies for the delays I asked for some table water, 10 minutes later i had to ask again. Most of the evening the 5 members of front of house were talking at the bar until food was called to be delivered, the 2 bar lads were the only ones working, they were making drinks, delivering food and clearing tables. Every aspect of the evening ruined the day for us, we could not wait to pay an get out. All tables around us were complaining about the service, of which 1 of them left before their starters had arrived. Shame as one of the best...
Read moreDecided to treat my wife and give her a day off seen as it was Easter Sunday Wow, what a meal got to the restaurant? 35 minutes before I had booked so we could have some cocktails. The cocktails was absolutely outstanding. Didn’t realise how long we had been drinking cocktails but there was no rush to go to the table and they just kept bringing us more and more cocktails lol Decided that we should eat something and we went for the three course Easter special which I’ve got to say was absolutely delicious. The steak that I had was cooked perfectly. My wife’s lamb shank just fell off the bone. After a couple more cocktails decided to have a pint, which is lovely too There was a gentleman playing the saxophone. He was absolutely brilliant. Great bloke interacted with the customers did a great job. The service and staff was outstanding. The lady behind the bar making cocktails did a fantastic job to keep up with me and my wife haha The cocktails actually tasted like they’re supposed to all home-made with fresh ingredients like mint raspberries She was Top class The nicest thing I liked there was no time limit no rush at our own pace Fantastic afternoon drinking some amazing cocktails and eating some...
Read moreA wonderful evening!
We had our Mum over to visit so we took our first opportunity at dining out at the Clock House. We expect this will be our local first choice after moving to Gainsborough quite recently.
For the Kitchen, the food was mostly beautiful. I did however leave feedback on the deserts being a bit too ambitious, in particular the croissant cheesecake - the texture, visual appearance and taste wasn't a great pairing for me. I also raised that perhaps a few more vegetables on the mains too, but overall satisfied on the mains and starters.
For the Front of House, the three ladies on that night created a wonderful atmosphere, even with the other tables which greatly increased the comfort of the Gastrobar. The service was absolutely incredible and I could not rate them highly enough, the ladies were Stacey, Emily and Lora (The Scottish One 😂😅). Absolutely loved the Nutella Martini (may of had two 🤭), incredible cocktail skills.
The £60-70 marked above did include wine and drinks, reason for the...
