I was most dissapointed yesterday afternoon we usually have our lunch in there but decided to meet my sister for cake and coffee mid afternoon instead..I had taken my disabled friend along with me so 3 of us would be using a table...we decided to sit near the window, as the seats were comfiest for my friend who has hip problems..the cafe was near enough empty and plenty of tables available. The table near the window had reserved on it, like it usually does but as 3 of us would be sitting there I decided it would be ok. We proceeded to sit as my friend carnt stand for long, but before I knew it I was being told the table was reserved, I didn't have time to tell her there would be 3 of us using the table, as she turned and headed back towards the kitchen..I called to say there would be 3 of us as we were meeting my sister shortly...the staff member proceeded to ask me if we were eating, i dnt see why i should have had to explain what we intended to do, in order to sit at a table..i could understand if the cafe had been busy but it was nearly empty...The table isn't reserved for anyone in particular, but they like to keep it free for 3 or more people..as there was 3 of us going to sit there i dnt see the problem. As I sat down I heard the 2 member of staff talking about me and the young lady proceeded to say I'd shouted at her..I was most upset as I hadn't even been speaking to her, and said I hadn't shouted at her, to which she snapped back... I had. ...Needless to say we left and I won't be going back again, nor will the rest of my family who usually dine in there..the staff were so rude and should be grateful of loyal...
Read moreMyself and my wife have been here several times, the staff are always friendly and the menu is just right, the meals you get are a good sized portion, we've never had a meal here that we've been unsatisfied with, I also like redbush tea, this is one of the few cafés I know that sell it so that's a bonus for me, everywhere in the café is clean, especially in these times with Covid, I'd definitely recommend Cream to anyone. We again here yesterday, we sat outside under a parasol as it was a hot day, not realising that they had air conditioning on indoors which was nice and cool, we ordered our food and informed that there was a 20 minute wait, we were fine with this as we wasn't in a hurry, after 35 minutes I asked how long the meals would be, I was thinking they were short staffed as everywhere seems to have this problem, when our meals arrived they couldn't apologise enough and said there's a little extra on there for you, again I just can't fault the food it was very nice, even though we waited a longer I think we would...
Read moreI do like this cafe and frequently eat here at least 2/3 times a month however I do feel the quality has depleted since I began eating here late 2017. The menu is varied but not so much that it's difficult to make a decision.
I personally feel their lunchtime selections (sandwhich with salads etc) are of a higher quality that the breakfasts, I have found certain elements of the the breakfast, bacon sometimes mushrooms and eggs to be oily or slightly under/over cooked. Never enough to ruin a meal but still pull it down as an experience.
They do offer a very nice continental breakfast however my last 2 had croissants leaning slightly passed crispy and into burnt. In general this breakfast is a really nice varied plate of food that's enjoyable.
Overall a nice place to eat and still by far the best breakfast in Gainsborough, however when compared to other local towns nearby not quite as good.
Lunches etc would probably have got...
