Ceo's Kitchen — Restaurant in West Suffolk

I've been looking forward to trying ceo's for a long time now. It looks so nice and I've heard plenty of good reviews.

I finally got chance to try it for myself, I wasn't disappointed at all ! The inside to so nicely decorated u feel like your not in Haverhill!! The staff where very friendly and helpful. The seating was extremely comfy and well spaced out.

The only moan we had as a group was that the service was extremely slow and u had to wave the staff down if u wanted them. When we arrived (group of 6) we had to wait 36 minutes to get a drink, the second the staff finally brought the drinks over we asked them to repeat the drinks order again so we wouldn't have to wait with empty glasses again.

When the cold mixed meze arrived for a group of 6 it only had one bowl of bread so we questioned that, it was a rather long wait for another 2 bowls of bread to arrive.

The main (mixed sharing platter) was huge!! The meat was perfectly cooked and tasted amazing !!!! All of us was rather happy with the platter, plenty of rice and salad to go with it, we felt maybe the rice would have been better on the side, inside its own bowl maybe and not under all the meat, that's just us being fussy though I think !

Not a bad selection of beers, none where draft like the menu stated, everything is bottles but not an awful price £4.95 for 500ml efes.

I'm looking forward to going back again, I personally feel that maybe a friday/Saturday night would be worth avoiding due to the long wait to be served (worth the wait though) I'm 100% trying a fish dish next time, the meat was amazing and I'll happily have it again but I love fish !!!

We arrived for our dinner as booked for 19:30, our drinks order was taken an hour after we arrived and then we had to wait a further half an hour for the drinks to arrive, then at around 21:05 our drinks arrived but our starters hadn't even been ordered yet, we called the waitress over , told her we were still waiting to get our food orders in, she took our food order at that point, we got our starter at around 21:35, and then they quickly brought over our mains rushed shortly after. one of our party ordered the Prawn de la Creme, and she got chips and prawns, no rice ,no cream & no mushrooms as per the order, we told the waitress who kindly changed that on our bill (they changed the order but charged the same) we actually didn't want to wait any longer for them to correct the order, so our friend ate what she was served, ordered a bottle of 'house wine' for after our long awaited cocktails, for 19.99 a bottle of house wine that was quite bad , we left it as none of us could drink it. We left there just after 22:40. We enjoyed our starters and mains nonetheless but we were very disappointed with the waiting time for drinks and food. It seemed that staff were more focused on the larger groups than the smaller parties hence...

Garlic mushroom, helim starter was delicious. Unfortunately I chose the Lamb casserole for main. I don't get to eat Lamb much as my family don't like it. I was looking forward to it but it was sadly disappointing. The lamb was tough and chewy. It had NOT been slowly cooked in a casserole. I believe it was probably lamb shish placed in a sauce. I even had to take a piece out of my mouth as I was unable to chew any further. On collection of plates, I explained I had left all the meat as it was far too chewy and not even an apology came my way. I was with work colleagues so didn't want to cause an upset.
