The Kala Sheep Indian Restaurant & Takeaway — Restaurant in West Suffolk

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kala Sheep in Newmarket, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The restaurant offers authentic Indian cuisine with a modern touch, and every dish we tried was full of rich flavors and beautifully presented.

The staff were exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The service was quick without ever feeling rushed, and they were more than happy to recommend dishes based on our preferences.

The food itself was superb – perfectly spiced, generous portions, and cooked to absolute perfection. The curries were aromatic and layered with flavor, the naan bread was soft and fresh, and the grilled dishes were wonderfully tender. It’s clear that a lot of care and passion goes into the cooking here.

The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. Prices are very reasonable for the quality, and I would say it’s one of the best Indian dining experiences in the area.

Attended a Butter Chicken tasting evening this evening. On entering the restaurant is light, airy and beautifully decorated. The staff were attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable.

Never did I think they would sway my husband's mind away from the original as he LOVES IT but ......... The new Butter Chicken is amazing from the moment it came out the senses were on overdrive. On first look it looks more traditional with a deeper colour and flecks of green from the coriander and fenugreek. Then as the smell hits your nose you know you're in for something special. The taste was just phenomenal, so fresh and tasty. It was butter chicken on steroids. We are sold. It's the new one for us all the way. My partner and I went for a payday date-night after having had many takeaways from the kala sheep we thought we would give the dine-in a try for the first time. The decor and atmosphere were welcoming and spotless, the food was exemplary also. My partner raised a concern she had to the manager about an issue she had with the service. This was immediately handled politely, professionally and tactfully. Neither of us can fault that treatment and a kind gesture was also offered by management.
