Asylum — Restaurant in Wigan

Whether you're nipping in for food on a random Wednesday afternoon or you're out for a few drinks on a Saturday night, Asylum is the place in Standish to be!

My partner and I have eaten at Asylum on 3 occasions and the food has been utterly outstanding. There are so many great options on the menu, no one could possibly go hungry! What is even better is the value for money that comes with it - the quality of food that comes out of that small kitchen is truly mind-blowing!

Oh, and there's Asahi beer on draft! Couldn't get any better.

Asylum is also fab at night - great music, very friendly bar and door staff, and just good vibes all around.

I visited today with my 2 friends and our 6 year old and 10 month old. I’ve been many a times and i really love the food and atmosphere here, one thing i haven’t done is gone with children and i was a little apprehensive. Well i needn’t have been, the food was gorgeous as always, its was 1:30pm so the atmosphere was very chilled. The service was amazing, the man looking after us was even great when our children spilt not 1 but 2 drinks. He looked after us and set us back up so we could order our meals. Would i visit again yes i would, would i go with the kids again, absolutely!! my little one loved the chicken wings too....

Went for lunch as I had passed many times but never been in, I was so impressed the staff were lovely warm welcoming and helpful, the atmosphere was cool and chilled vibe with a nice background music level and the interior decor was trendy and niche, giving new Orleans vibe. When the food came it was delicious I had the halloumi taco which was so flavour packed and then I had the salt and pepper fries, again delicious.my friend had the dancing prawns and halloumi fries, and whilst the prawns did not dance they were delicious.
