I’m new to the area and I’ve found that the atmosphere in here is completely different in the week to the weekends. I really like it at the weekend however I went here this week after a long day at work and I was made to feel unwelcome. After an hour a man put a sign on our table that said about a quiz starting, as the bar filled up, ‘the regulars’ watched and commented on how quick / slow we were drinking as they wanted our seats, then overheard the man say we put down the quiz signs to make people leave. Someone then walked around to each group / table in the bar and asked if they wanted to do the quiz but ‘skipped’ past us. I didn’t find this place friendly at all and it made us feel very unwelcome. Read moreUnsure when this opened, but probably 2016 by my guess. Located on a corner site, this very modern, stylish bar gives great views over the busy main thoroughfare of Standish. Totally unlike the other pubs in the town, this sets itself well above its competitors, and I would say justifiably so too. Swish interior with plenty of comfortable seating, there's an outside terrace too for watching the world go by. An owl theme is evident as the creatures manifest themselves in various ways around the place. Though it’s basically a micro bar it has a larger than life appearance due to the well laid out space it occupies on a corner plot which includes a good sized covered patio from where you can watch the village life pass by.
