Plantation Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Wigan

Heard a lot about this place so had to try it. Walked in and was quite dark, and nobody else in there (Saturday 5pm-ish). Big booths and tables with lots of areas to choose from. Young waiter came and gave us the menu and cocktail specials. Was his first day but lived up to the customer service we'd heard a lot about...well done 👍 Smallish menu with a range of burgers being their specialty and all reasonably priced, with the majority less than £10. Had a sharer starter which was well cooked and then the burgers arrived. Wow...looked as good as they sounded on the menu. Both came with skin on fries or upgrades available. Everything about the burgers was great...well cooked, lots of nice dressings/accompaniments and HUGE portions of fries. Although the desserts sounded fantastic the main left no room for anything else. Very satisfied with everything (despite first impressions) and will absolutely be back. Fantastic food, and for what I think very reasonable prices for what you get. We took advantage of an offer tonight where we got a starting platter for two, two main meals and a bottle of wine for £20. Kids meals were extremely good value for £5 each.

The building inside is very rustic feeling and the theme in general is really cosy, the staff didn't mind the kids having a play and a mess around on the open area near the seating which was great, keeping 2 autistic children focussed on their dinner and occupied for long is no easy task.

All in all, couldn't recommend highly enough, will certainly be looking to visit again, and would definitely suggest you try it out if you like Steaks, Burgers...

I recently tried a burger that left me pretty disappointed. From the outside, it looked promising, but when I bit into it, the patty was shockingly undercooked. The center was still very pink and had a mushy texture, it was like warm mince meat, which made it quite unappetizing. The flavor of the toppings was okay, but the texture and doneness of the meat really overshadowed any positives.
