Cafe Monde — Restaurant in Winchester

Shame about 2 stars rating as food is very nice, however this place is not keeping clean before and after each guest arrive at a table or leave a table. I have been working for 30 years in the catering industry, and espacially coming out of a Pandemic, we covid clean all tables and chairs before and after each use. 3 of us sat at a table in the back courtyard, had mains, cake and coffee, while we were there, about 2hrs not one member of staff wiped any if the tables wich were quickly occupied on a sunny sunday lunch, really put off by...

This place is what a small cafe should be all about. A wonderful and complete menu at great prices serving all sorts of food and drinks. Nice touches were the breakfasts served all day which also included the option of vegetarian sausages. The decor is original and helps me this place, certainly the upstairs, very cosy indeed. The location itself, set off a small courtyard only helps the 'cosy' feel. Service was prompt and wonderfully friendly. A small’ish coffee shop located near the cathedral in a paved area among a few other cafes. Met up for a coffee here & sat in the window & watched the world go by. There is outside seating & plenty inside.

It wasn’t busy but I can imagine it can be quite tight inside when it is though I didn’t go further in than our seat at the window. We only ordered coffees but there were plenty of small snacks & cooked food on offer. Our coffees were brought to us, good attentive service. Will definitely meet...
