Greens — Restaurant in Winchester

What an amazing place to find, by complete accident. We were warmly welcomed and quickly sat down. The menu choices, OMG, everything sounded lovely, but we could only handle one dish at a time. Anyway, I can certainly confirm, I had major food envy, watching a variety of plates pass by me!! Our food arrived, quickly, considering it was busy and lunchtime. I had soup, and my goodness, this was the yummiest tomato and basil soup ever. The atmosphere was fantastic, what a great place to chill. The staff, what can I say. They were amazing, always smiling and frequently checking-in with us. Meanwhile, Peter Green, the main man, was behind the bar, unbeknownst to me. We started talking, and I'll tell you Peter made me feel like an old friend(bearing in mind this was our first time at Greens-let alone first time in Winchester). A true gentleman, who cares deeply for his patrons and importantly his staff. Peter is a example of a person who does not give up, ask him yourself. Such passion and drive. If this could be bottled, I will take two please. Love this man, love the staff, love the food, Love GREENS BAR...

I was here with my husband yesterday...

I was very excited to come here to have breakfast because we're following the 4.5-star reviews. There are good services from the waitress. When food arrives, it looks amazing. But as soon as i have my first bite, I realize that the food is not hot and not even warm. It's not cold but I expected a hot breakfast, that's why we came to the restaurant. I can eat but not impressed and I can't finish because I don't feel enjoying my breakfast anymore. Eggs, sauce, and bread were not even warm... at least the bread is still crispy. And then, after my stomach didn't feel right because I really needed hot food in this cold weather. But my husband dish is hot like super. Began the evening here very pleasant and some good service we even left a tip...... Decided to go elsewhere to eat but we booked a table to return.... On our return to this bar we are told that we are not going to be served as we have had to much to drink.... I am 47 and have never been refused to be served in my life.... I just wonder if we had not gone elsewhere for something to eat would they have continued to serve us and taken our money all day.... We did speak to the manager and she could give no reason to why they thought we had to much to drink as we were not loud not rude and ruley in anyway we were not falling over or causing any disruption and definatley not drunk..... My advice to anyone going there is don't look like your having a good time there or you will...
