King Shawarma — Restaurant in Wirral

Stopped by for a quick bite whilst visiting Birkenhead. From the get go the shop looked good inside Great array of salad on display And All looking fresh. A very minimalist option on the menu always a good sign. Went for the mixed shawarma in their homemade pitta. The pitta was delicious on its own. But the king was the shawarma. Juicy, the spice danced in my mouth. cooked perfectly on medium heat. All being mixed in with every chew the fresh salads. Red cabbage onion gherkin and garlic mayo and spicy sauce with an exception of a few jalapeño. First visit to King Shawarma and it won’t be my last. Ordered a mixed shawarma in a wrap with salad. Food was delicious, nice salad selection but I just had onion and red cabbage - and their ‘special’ sauce which was only slightly spicy as promised. Very tasty lamb and chicken and the fresh flatbread was lovely. Contrary to some reviews, I thought the portion size was good - especially with a price of £4.50. But the option to ‘go large’ would be nice for those with a bigger appetite. I’d hoped to try the Falafels as well but they had none when I went in, probably a good idea as the shawarma itself filled me nicely. I’m in the area tomorrow so will probably be popping in...

I've never had shawarma before but decided to give this place a go, when I saw it open.

I was NOT disappointed!! My partner and I tried the chicken shawarma wrap and it was delicious.

I've been in and had a sit down Lamb shawarma with chips .... excellent!

My partner and I went for another chicken shawarma each another time and decided to try a fatayer to go with it and were made up with that too!!

Very friendly staff, an excellent meal, good prices and a treat to watch your food being prepared, from the made to order bread right through to fresh and tasty salad.
