Disgusting customer service and possible case of passive racism received by the staff.
To explain: I was at the FRONT of the queue on the left side drive-through waiting to have my order taken (there are 2 drive throughs, one on the left one of the right).
Despite that, the person taking the orders decided to take orders from the RIGHT/second drive through ONLY for quite some time. At least 8 or 9 cars who arrived LATER than me had their orders taken before me even though I was front of the queue on the left. It was only until a VERY long queue starting forming behind my car that a staff member finally decided to spoke to me.
Worse, when I went to the window, the staff at the window were too busy laughing and talking for a few minutes rather than letting me pay straight off. I literally felt so embarrassed just waiting around like a sitting duck, whilst I was looking at the staff trying to indicate that I wanted to pay. After much difficulty, I finally managed to pay but there was no “thank you” or anything, it was just a cold brush off. Almost as though the staff were trying to indicate they were doing ME a favour by letting me pay, rather than the other way round.
I am shocked because of this incident I felt like I was being a nuisance to the cars waiting behind me. Naturally, I went home very upset. My partner noticed and stated that I shouldn’t be feeling like I was the problem when the STAFF was the issue. Concepts of “politeness”, “kindness” or even any idea of what customer service should be is like a myth at this place. This is why I am writing this review.
Truly, it is shocking how the STAFF could make a CUSTOMER feel like they are unwelcome. I strongly suspect this is a case of RACISM because all the other car owners who went before me was white and I am not. I seriously worry about the staff culture at this McDonalds, as it seems rather toxic.
I want to give the staff a benefit of a doubt but you cannot reasonably explain letting 8-9 cars who arrived later than me (queuing on the right) get served before I did, when I was at the front of the left queue. You also cannot explain the laughing and talking at the window for a good few minutes and the rudeness I received.
Tldr; Felt very unwelcome due to the staff segregating me (possibly due to being a person of colour). The staff was also rude, and chose to talk and laugh instead of doing their jobs. They seriously need training in equality and basic customer service because this was absolutely appalling. I am disgusted with the treatment I received today and I will definitely not be...
Read moreTook my grandson and his brother there after our day out. Ordered food at the self service stands, checked everything was on the order and preceeded to complete the payment. Boys went to sit where the iPads are situated 4 in all, only 1 was working causing frustration between the boy's as 1 of them has adhd and other little problems and works at a younger age than his age. The food was served at the counter and one of the boys burger was missing, I waited for a member of staff to realise I was still standing there, they finally noticed and I explained about the missing burger, by time that burger was handed to me all the food on the tray was a lot cooler than when they were originally placed in front of me. Not bothering to make a scene I returned to the table the boy's were sat at. So food was not the best to say the least but come on it is McDonald's and the food is not the best to start with. After giving up trying to get the boy's to eat they went to the little play area for a few minutes. Sitting there with other people who had children in the pay area, not actually supervising their children as they were running around the main seating area, climbing on the tables with either sox on their feet or feet with nothing on them due to the weather we had that day. After I'd had enough to the screaming kids running everywhere in the building we left as my grandson's brother was becoming overwhelmed and not far from a full on melt down. We ended up at Wendy's over the road from McDonald's, so after driving all the way around the one way system I purchased food for the children to eat in the car for the journey home. Wendy's food was hot the full order was handed over and the boy's ate it all, I didn't eat from either establishment but the boys aged 7 and 10 said they enjoyed their meal and can we go back...
Read moreVery disappointed Decided I fancied a McDonalds meal at 10pm this evening. As it has been such a lovely warm Day I decided to walk to McDonalds from the Travelodge Bromborough. A pleasant 20 minute walk led me to the Golden Arches - Hooray it was open ! the sign says 24 hour opening ... On approaching the restaurant I was informed it was closed ! The drive thru was open thou so I walked to the ordering point and was informed I couldn't place an order as I wasn't sitting in a car . I spoke to the duty manager to voice my concerns that McDonalds were actually discriminating against non - motorists and people who chose to actually try and have an active and fit lifestyle. Surely McDonalds should be rewarding people who are trying to reduce the pollution levels that are affecting our planet so adversely. Feeling pretty annoyed with the situation I walked an additional 5 minutes to the Asda nearby and purchased a meal deal and walked back to McDonalds where I consumed my meal in the seating that was available for McDonalds customers to use .. Come on McDonalds - sort it out ! You lost a sale and...
