Highly recommend! We had a great meal at Mexican Bar & Grill in Wallasey and will definitely be returning. The food was excellent and the two-course deal at £14 is fantastic value for money.
For starters, we tried the chicken taquitos and spicy beef taquitos. The waiter warned us that the beef was very spicy, and we almost didn’t order it — but I’m so glad we took a chance! The beef taquitos absolutely stole the show — full of flavour with only the slightest gentle kick. In comparison, the chicken was fine but nowhere near as good as the beef.
For mains, we had the chicken chimichanga and chicken burrito. Both were very tasty, but in hindsight, we regretted not going for the beef options after how much we enjoyed the beef starter! Next time, we’ll know better.
Overall, this was one of the best Mexican meals we’ve had locally. I’d highly recommend trying it — and if you’re unsure about the “spicy” beef, don’t hesitate — it’s very manageable and incredibly flavourful. Looking forward to going back and trying...
Read moreDisappointed to write such a negative review as I know how difficult hospitality is. We was a group booking and gave menus in advance, on arrival the managers confirmed food. The food came out with mains first starters much later. Our party was hungry, due to the long wait I asked the owner/manager if he would consider placing a few tortilla chips on the table to curb our hunger giving them more time to prepare food he was very rude with his response, his attitude continued throughout the night. The food was lukewarm and some of party still hadn’t received their food, When other people from our party was leaving. Most of our party chose the two corse menu, on paying the manager made us pay for starters and mains separately stating we hadn’t been clear that we wanted the two corse deal. Even though some of the starters were only available on the set menu. I will in future avoid this restaurant and choose a restaurant that can cope with a group of people and can provide at least some...
Read moreWe tried this restaurant on a whim and because one of our group is Vegan, it was good to see she had some menu choices here. Although we hadn't booked, we were given a warm welcome and promptly guided to a table. The meals were simply delicious (both meat and vegan dishes) and very filling. My wife ordered a glass of Tempranillo and was utterly delighted to see the generous measure served at a reasonable price. Polishing off both starters and main courses, we were far too full to order deserts. However, we intend to do so on our next visit. The meals, service, ambience and decor were all spot on. The bonus surprise was the final bill which averaged out at £20 per person, which included drinks!!! ...thus leaving room for a well deserved tip. Needless to say we were very impressed with this restaurant and will return on a...
