Otto Lounge — Restaurant in Wirral

OMG, what a gem of a place this is. I can't believe I haven't been here before. The first thing I want to say is how impressed I was with the service. All the staff we interacted with were a delight and a real credit to the business. Also, my wife has a dairy and gluten intolerance, and I was very impressed with the staffs care and understanding and also with the choices available to her as some establishments don't have that much choice. I think the menu choices overall are excellent and very reasonably priced, from a variety of all-day brunches, salads, sandwiches, flat breads, and burgers, to name a few, even an offering of tapas, which after pondering I decided to get and I was not disappointed. 3 plates for £12.50. My choices- crispy chicken wings with siracha and honey( very tasty indeed ), patatas bravas, and for me, what can only be described as a flavour bomb- mini brisket chilli( this was insanely good ), and added a garlic ciabatta for an extra £3 ish. My wife had smoked salmon on gf muffin and poached eggs. They even changed the hollandaise sauce for her due to her intolerance, which I thought was just wonderful. As a family we regularly visit Otto on a weekly basis - there can be between 4 and 10 of us. Tom is very friendly and understood my frustrations with Otto Lounge this morning. Most of the problems are small and could be rectified quite quickly. For example - if you order scrambled egg on toast it arrives with 2 rounds of toast with often burnt scrambled egg on the dry toast with hard butter at the side of the toast so you have to scrape the scrambled egg off the toast, try and spread the hard butter on the toast then scrape the egg back on the toast - by this time it is usually cold. There is often no skimmed milk - with the only option being full fat milk. The toasted tea cakes are often cold and soggy on the bottom. This morning my sister ordered for 2 people and all the food arrived on the same plate. More staff are required and preferably people who look like they want to work there! - there are obviously problems with the staff as there is a massive turnover of staff. I told Tom this morning that I will only be coming in for a coffee from now on and will not be eating there again - he asked me to give them another...

Have been to Otto lounge at couple of times before today. Enjoyed it. But today went with my 2 grown up sons and my youngest sons girlfriend for breakfast/ lunch for my birthday. When the order came it was for 3 people not 4, as there was 4 of us we wouldn't have ordered for 3. Mine was the one not ordered even though we ordered for 4 people. So I had to wait for mine. Think the person taking the orders was a new employee. After some confusion my order came. But as we left an employee came outside after us. He just kept saying YOU have to pay! Which we thought we had done for the 4. Felt like a shoplifter. Sort of ruined my birthday treat. Youngest son went back in to pay and the person just kept saying YOU have to pay! Youngest son has said we won't be going there again. Both my sons are serving personnel in the armed forces and it's great for me to see them when they are both home. Just put a black Mark on my day.
