Tucked away just a minute’s walk from the town centre, HÄUS is an unexpected gem serving up serious flavour and comfort with a distinctly Brazilian soul. I popped in on a whim and ended up with what might be the best feijoada I’ve had outside Brazil.
The plate arrived like a celebration: rich black beans simmered to perfection, enveloping generous cuts of smoked meats – sausages, ribs, and all the trimmings – layered with love. On the side, fluffy white rice, zesty orange slices, toasted farofa, fresh tomato-cucumber salad, and a surprisingly crisp, tangy slaw balanced everything out beautifully. That little rosebud on the rice? A delicate touch that made it feel like a proper event.
To drink? An ice-cold, freshly blended passion fruit juice – tart, pulpy, and naturally refreshing. A perfect match for the depth and richness of the feijoada.
And the best part? I cleaned the plate. Every last grain. That’s the kind of meal that silences your phone, resets your day, and has you plotting a return visit before the fork hits the table.

You don’t just feel like a customer, you feel like you’ve been whisked into her home, handed a menu, and told, “You MUST try this.” And honestly, she’s right.
The tapioca with cheese, bacon, and egg? Outrageous. The kind of dish that makes you re-think everything you know about breakfast. Perfectly chewy, perfectly crispy, perfectly… well, perfect. Ask her about the sugarcane & lime drink: deliciously balanced, and almost creamy.

Read moreI’ve been to many Brazilian restaurants before, but this one truly stands out. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with such warmth—it genuinely felt like being at home. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff is incredibly kind, and the food… absolutely amazing! Every dish was full of authentic flavor, and my son said it was the best rabada he’s ever had—and I have to agree, it was outstanding. This place brings together heart, flavor, and true Brazilian hospitality. We’ll definitely be...
