After going to and enjoying previous experiences at Hash before, our last visit has really put us off returning. The experience as a whole - from service to food - was really quite dire.
We were first sat at a dirty table, of which was only wiped clean after we sat down with a dirty knife left on the table (presumably forgotten about). Napkins were not replenished either, despite plenty being available on other tables. Service was friendly - and while I understand it was a Sunday and rather busy - we could both see the drinks we ordered sat on the side ready to be brought to our table for almost 10 minutes, my partners tea arrived cold. We also ordered water for the table that never arrived, which wasn't the only thing left off of our order. Tables who were sat after us were served before us, even though we were only a table of 2 compared to an entire family table of 4, or a table of 3?
Our food then arrived, or should I say partly arrived. We ordered 2 potato rosti's but only one came out, which - on a related point -was entirely overpriced and underwhelming. It's genuinely a pre-prepped frozen rosti about 3cm in diameter placed on the centre of a large plate - almost an attempted 'minimalist' sort of effect - that costs £2 on its own? On our last visit, we used to get multiple rosti's from memory.
The main issue being that the vegetarian sandwich my partner ordered (Included avocado, egg and vegetarian sausages) came with the egg completely undercooked. The white was watery and had a slimy, gooey texture which resembled a raw egg white, to the point where it was inedible and had to be sent back. Upon inspection the waitress agreed and took the sandwich back. Despite my order being okay and untouched, she also took that back too, as well as the exaggerated rosti!
At this point we requested to leave, to which we were told 'Okay, we'll just bring the bill over'. To our relief, we weren't charged for the food but we were charged £3.80 for a small glass of orange juice and £2.70 for a mug of tea! I thought this was really quite cheeky considering such a poor experience.
It didn't even stop there, on the way out my partner tripped and cut her foot on a raised concrete platform directly next to the table, we thought it was very poorly placed! The table was just shoved in a corner outside without any thought, just for the convenience of having more room - despite the staff not being able to keep up with what they have already.
Overall - despite decent trips to Hash before - we cannot recommend going back, there wasn't one positive to our recent visit and all we ended up doing was buying overpriced orange juice. We will...
Read moreDecided on a rare breakfast out for a treat to enjoy together. First time visiting Hash , and was looking forwards to it. But won't rush to go again. Ended up not eating together as they forgot my meal order. And an extra £3.90 hot chocolate added onto bill in error!
Husband ordered a Cappuccino which he enjoyed , my hot chocolate was nice but not very warm.
Husband ordered a Full English and I ordered pancakes . Husbands meal came out, waitress asked if I'd actually ordered anything . Turns out they'd forgotten about my pancakes order , apologised and said they'd start cooking it now. So Hubby finished his breakfast before mine even came to the table. So I had to sit watching him eat his , then he had to sit watching me eat mine.
The whole eating breakfast out together treat was spoilt by not being able to actually eat the meals together at the same time. Mistakes happen , but would have thought they could have knocked a bit off the bill to compensate for their error. BUT no , they actually presented the bill with an extra £3.90 hot chocolate added in error ! !! We'd only had 4 items , wondering how many others have just paid extra without checking.
Shame it wasn't a good experience as staff were friendly and a nice looking restaurant. But don't expect to pay over £30 for a breakfast for 2 with those sort of ...
Read moreAfter looking around Worcester for a decent breakfast place this one seemed the most different and looked the most appealing. On arrival there was a nice sunny table which we were kindly told that we could have so we sat down and were happy so far!
Our only issue however came with the wait for food and coffee to order and to then arrive at our table, it was a Saturday morning granted, and we were a walk in table so to reflect that were as patient as we possibly could be. We were told they have a "fair" ordering system where heads are counted as they enter and they get served in order, which seems normal, however a table twice our size was given food and drinks much quicker than us, after arriving 15 minutes later and ordering a lot of the same items...
Regardless, I'm not one to complain and won't let this take away from the food however, which was very nice and not badly priced for an independent coffee shop; the menu was original and came out as described - hot, fresh, and tasty. Hash is a good establishment with tasty food and friendly faces, could potentially just do with an extra staff member on weekends and maybe a review of the ordering process. An overall...
