A Sunday Roast to Remember 🍽️🍷

Wow, wow, wow! 🤩 I took my two boys to The King Charles on Friar Street for a Sunday dinner, and we had the meat platter it was absolutely delicious! 🤤

We arrived at 5 PM, and usually, at that time, Sunday roasts can start feeling a bit tired. Not here. Everything was spot on. 👌

🍖 The meat—tender, juicy, and full of flavour. 🥬 The sides—cabbage, stuffing balls, cauliflower cheese—all sublime. 🫕 The gravy—rich, well-seasoned, and tied everything together. 🐷 Pigs in blankets—just as they should be, packed with flavour. 🥓 The crackling—a long, crispy piece across the top of the platter. Perfection.

We shared the platter between the three of us, adding extra meat for £5, which was well worth it. 💰 I hadn’t eaten lamb in years, but it was incredible. 🤯

For dessert, the boys had brownies 🍫, while I had a lemon posset with a ginger biscuit 🍋🍪. It was divine if I had to be picky, I’d say it could have been a touch more lemony, but that’s a very minor thing.

The atmosphere was just as good as the food. We had a cosy seat by the window with the fire roaring 🔥, making it the perfect end to a Sunday afternoon walk. 🚶‍♀️🐾

And what makes it even more special it’s dog-friendly! 🐶 💛 My lovely dog curled up at our feet while we enjoyed our meal, making the experience even more relaxed and enjoyable.

A massive thank you to the staff and chefs at The King Charles! 👏 This is hands down my favourite Sunday roast in Worcester so far. I’ll definitely...

The stunning facade of this historic building with it distinctive basket display made it virtually impossible to walk past, and once inside the whole experience was just as impressive. Breathtaking architecture, complimented by tasteful period artefacts, inviting log fires, sympathetic lighting and twickling candle light made me feel like I had stepped back in time. There was a warm welcome by the attentive staff and knowledgeable help selecting from the fantastic range of well kept ales. The food was great too, including an imaginative selection of pies and flavoured mash complimented steaks and delicious sounding salads. We went on a Sunday and the Sunday Roast was as good as I have ever had. Expertly cooked, beautifully presented and piping hot. The side dishes on offer are very tempting too. The owner was very friendly and obviously has a keen eye for detail, because the whole experience was superb. Not just recommended, but worth going out of your way to find. *Update: We are now regulars and over recent months the food offering has developed and expanded. Alongside some beautiful steaks there are top quality specials, including sea bream and...

We booked a table for 6 here to celebrate our wedding, which was a small family occassion. The hostess was amazing, managing to run tables and serve at the bar. She is an absolutely brilliant member of staff and I can only pass on my greatest thanks for the time, service and welcome she gave to us.

The pub itself is wonderful! The atmosphere was perfect - a mix of regulars and visitors to Worcester. We felt immediately at home. It was a wonderful touch to have a card left on the table with a congratulations for our marriage. To spend such a special day at the King Charles was a priviledge and we will return again!

The bar was well stocked with Craddocks, local gin and a good selection of wine. Many a fantastic drink was had. The food here is another story - out of this world! I had been told the place was famous for it's pies and we were not disappointed. Everything felt hearty, very well made, cared for and ultimately was utterly delicious!

Thank you for being part of our day and making it so special. We cannot rate you highly enough, will recommend you far and wide and hope to return...
