Popped in for quick Saturday brunch to Bungaroosh cafe bistro, and was seriously impressed! Lovely decor, freindly happy staff, small but interesting lunch menu. I chose the chicken shawarma wrap, the wife had the chicken and avocado sandwich plus a cheeky portion of chips on the side to share. Well the food arrived promptly and looked amazing, the wifes sandwich, well sandwich doesn't do justice to what arrived, it was so much more, the bread appeared homemade thick sliced flatbread, not your normal white sliced, and the filling and sides where ample. My wrap was large, put together with care, attention and tasted incredible, the filling spread evenly throughout, chicken and salad spread evenly from end to end, with not one mouthful of anything but yumminess, I'm not sure if that's even a word but that's the one I want to use. It really was the best wrap I'd eaten, even to call this a wrap seems mean. Because it was a tasty meal. The salad that accompanied it had a very nice dressing with nice little pickles here and there that lifted the who thing. After tasting the food and evaluating the size we both agreed we needed have order the chips. However the hand cut fresh cooked chips didn't stand a chance, they were delicious! Here we have found an amazing place to eat. It was such a surprise to be blown away by something which maybe classed as simple food, but done with such a care and flair, it could be the suprise of the year. Give them a go we will be back, the last word...

We arrived and were quickly seated at a table. Menus were handed out, and drinks were ordered. So far, so good. 10 minutes later, a party is seated at the table next to ours. The same process for them; menus were handed out, and they order drinks. 5 minutes later, their drinks arrive and they order food. Our drinks are nowhere to be seen and I therefore try to make eye contact with the waiter to remind him of our drinks and take our menu order. 15 minutes later, the neighboring table was served their food. By then, we had been waiting 30 minutes to get our drinks. The guests that arrived 10 minutes after us, they have been served their food.
After another two or three attempts to get someone's attention, we gave up and simply left. We ate our lunch elsewhere.
As I said at the outset, I really don't like submitting bad reviews unless I have given a member of the staff a chance to correct the problem. Unfortunately, in this case, I couldn't even get hold of anyone during our 30-minute visit.
To summarize, I struggle to rate the food, as we didn't have the opportunity to taste it, which is unfortunate as lots of friends swear by the place. The atmosphere was lovely, though, so we might have a second bite...
Read moreDelightful visit to Bungaroosh with my son. We booked to have the sharer options they now have in the evenings. The three staff members were very welcoming and helpful. We ordered the mini sharer cocktails from a choice - we each had three. Very distinct and enjoyable drinks - my son particularly enjoyed the dark and spicy rum with ginger beer, the martini espresso was well-balanced, and the kir royale was pleasantly dry. We shared the mezze platter with additional feta, with a portion of perfectly seasoned chips. There was avocado, aubergine, olive tapanade, onion salad with tomatoes, lovely little pickled vegetables, falafels, and flatbread/tortillas. The red sauce really complemented the falafels and chips. There was plenty for the two of us. I think the sharing plates are a great addition to Bungaroosh's excellent daytime menu. Plenty of options for vegetarian/vegan / gluten-free requirements. We'll definitely...
