Vita Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Worthing

Went here today after a walk around Worthing, family of 7 including 3 children, prices looked reasonable and there was plenty of seating so we gave it a go. Unfortunately the food was of a very poor Standard and has made 2 of us unwell, the Plaice was extremely fishy and was only half eaten because of this, the tuna jacket potato tasted sour and off, both have caused stomach pains and vomiting. The chilli con carne was only luke warm, the full English was over cooked and greasy. We ordered a Chicken Curry that didn't arrive, once we questioned this, it was reordered but obviously we then had to wait rather than all eating together. The 2 saveloy and chips were fine but let's be honest, that's basic food. It seams to be a family run restaurant, with ready made microwaveable food. Even though there was only a few customers at the time of our visit, it doesn't look like the correct procedures were followed in preparing our meals! We won't be returning and would advise others to be wary of eating here in the future.

I made the mistake of sitting out side Vita to eat my fish and chips as there were plenty of tables with no one sat at any of them. I also hasn't brought my fish and chips at Vita so I was prepared to move if asked to. I was almost finished and still the only person seated outside when a member of staff came out and said these tables were for his customers only. I apologise and said I had finished and would move. I was clearing my table when he came out again along with another member of staff in a very threatening behaviour. He started shouting and repeating that these tables were for his customers. Yet still his tables were empty and still no one waiting for a table. I got up and left. But the scene he caused was not in the least friendly or welcoming. He could see I had finished but chose to keep shouting. Not impressed at all. If he wants to separate his tables from the others then he should rope them off from the other restaurant. The best and tastiest fish & chips I've had in 10 years! I just can't believe how tasty it was - not bland like most fish & chip shops. I had cod & chips which was a huge portion; my mum had the OAPs version which was smaller than mine but still a decent amount of food that she couldn't eat it all. The cod and chips were cooked freshly and they weren't greasy, just fresh & tasty. Husband had one of the breakfasts as he can't eat fish and that was lovely too - even the sausages (which normally in a fry up are the thing that lets it down), at Vita, they were delicious. Great efficient service by the staff, they helped move some chairs for easier access for mums wheelchair when sitting at the table and were attentive whilst serving and made sure we were happy and had all the sauces and accompaniments we needed. Excellent place to eat in Worthing and highly recommend it to everyone! (although maybe I shouldn't so I can get a table anytime I want ;-)) Try it, you won't be...
