Absolutely delighted with my visit to AJ’s Diner in Kidderminster—a true gem that lives up to its glowing reputation. We attended here the morning of Sat 21st June on the Kidderminster Ale Tour, to start off the day. From the moment I stepped through the door, the warm, welcoming atmosphere set the tone for what turned out to be a thoroughly satisfying experience.
The highlights? Without a doubt, the B.E.S.T. and bacon sandwiches. The B.E.S.T being a towering creation of bacon, egg, sausage, and tomato that was as fresh as it was generous. Each bite delivered on flavour and quality, with thick-cut bacon cooked to perfection and eggs that were clearly cracked fresh that morning. It was so substantial, I couldn’t finish it in one sitting—but the lovely staff were more than happy to wrap it up for me to take away. That kind of thoughtful service really sets a place apart.
The coffee was another standout - it paired beautifully with the hearty breakfast and rounded off the meal with a comforting finish.
What truly made the visit memorable, though, was the team behind the counter. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, striking that perfect balance between attentive and relaxed. It’s clear they take pride in what they do, and it shows in both the food and the service.
If you’re in Kidderminster and craving a proper breakfast done right, AJ’s Diner is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’ll come with an even...
Read moreWell I came here because of the good reviews and whilst it wasn't bad it's nowhere close to 5 stars and trust me I travel the whole of the UK every week and eat in many cafes, restaurants etc. So here's why I gave it 3 stars, firstly you can't make a cup of tea by pouring hot water on a tea bag, adding milk straight away and then take the bag out. I had to ask and explain to just leave the bag in the cup and I'll add the milk later. Secondly everything was over done to the point I couldn't even cut my bacon and I've never been served a black hash brown in my life before. Next I hate it when bits of your food come out at different times, how hard is it to time it right and bring it all together. And lastly the ingredients tasted cheap so in reply to some of the previous reviews on here, if this really is the best breakfast in town I should really open up a proper breakfast cafe somewhere near and I'll clear up and...
Read moreWe recently visited the Severn Valley Railway, arriving in Kidderminster from Bridgnorth around lunchtime we looked for somewhere to eat and found AJ's Diner just round the corner from the station. I wish we had continued walking, what a mistake it was to go in. We waited ages for a sandwich and a cup of coffee, the coffee was not nice, it was very bitter and the less said about the sandwich the better. This place is next to Kidderminster Railway Station and the sandwich was like an old British Rail sandwich from the 1960's, the ends curled over when you picked it up. We would have been much better going into the Fish and Chip shop opposite the station, will definitely not be going back.. AVOID
Update following reply from AJ's Diner. I am sure everything you buy is fresh, pity it was not when it was...
